Haven't been on in a bit and not sure if this has been covered but couldn't find in a search. Got wind last week that Nick has developed his own Bronco wiring harness that would be available soon. I happened to be driving through Delaware on the way to a work meeting yesterday and gave him a call, the harness is ready and available. His harness comes fully loomed and wires labeled and has connectors installed for all the standard switches, etc. Seems like a really nice harness that will be much less time consuming than others to install. Driving back through today I swung by the shop and picked one up. Only looked at it in the box so obviously haven't installed, but I'll look it over tomorrow and can post some pics if anyone is interested.

Anyone interested in an unused Painless harness?

Looking forward to your report on it. I heard the same recently so I looked at the website a few days ago but wasn't able to find anything.

Thanks for the update. Shoot me a PM with your asking price for the Painless. I may be a buyer at the right price.

Definitely post up pics. As many as you feel like. Anything is good advertising for Nick and Northeast.
Box included...
So, boxed, unboxed, and laid out a bit. No need to get all exotic yet. Definitely looking forward to your comments on it as the install progresses.

Is it laid out like a stock harness? Or is it a modern upgrade? Ford wiring colors, or GM?

Thanks

Paul

I would love to see pictures of this. I am needing a new harness and have been intimated by building a harness.

Quick glance at instructions look detailed and easy to follow.

Disclaimer: I didn’t read them completely and haven’t done the install.

Now that I'm mostly done, NOW you tell us there is a new and better option!

I've been spending the past couple weeks tediously wiring my '69 using a new un-used Ron Francis kit I picked up third-hand. (The guy I bought it from got it included with a stalled Bronco project he bought and parted out.) The Francis kit is good stuff, bit it is not plug-n-play. Requires a lot of thought to route, and lots of fussing to terminate all the over-length wiring. I suspect that is also the case with the Painless, American Autowire, etc.

I would love to see pictures of this. I am needing a new harness and have been intimated by building a harness.
Exactly. Just from what I can see in the pics, it looks like a much easier install, with a lot less custom work. It looks like the custom pre-built harnesses I've used on other (non-Ford) projects in the past. Should be a nice option for anyone who doesn't need to build something full-on custom, or who is less comfortable working with electrics.

Seems to be a hybrid of GM/Ford wiring colors. Mostly GM, but some components are just like early Ford like would be found on a Bronco. Such as Brown for heater power, Black for ACC.
Oddly, GM with Red coming into the ignition connector, but Ford Yellow going from the connector to the switch!
Built around the '71 and later Bronco harness, without the rectangular firewall plugs, but with bundles and grommets for passing through the firewall.
Perhaps they're filling in the gap left by Centech when they recently pulled the Bronco harness off the market.

Got a pic of the fuse panel?

Be sure to update this thread when you start the installation.

On first glance it looks to be a sorta copy of the old centech harness?
I think that was their goal, to copy the Centech harness. Personally, I used the Centech once and would never use it again. I spent hours chasing issues, only to find out from Centech support that "some of their wires were mismarked and not correct" from the factory....lovely. I also wasn't a fan of all their huge weatherpack connectors, I ended up cutting them off and using a smaller style. I can't tell from the pics, but does it use the old style plastic split loom? It would be great if it used the newer mesh style. I have found painless to be the easiest and very well made harness, but if this is cheaper, I may have to give it a shot.

Frankly, I have had quite the opposite experience in that I found the Centech very easy to install and the Painless overly complicated, not to mention the loom kit was extra which for the price they should include it.

To be fair my only complaint with the centech is it could have used 4-5 more power leads which it looks like Northeast has added?

I think Nick said there are 4 extra power leads.
