Congrats to @broncojack for the article on his freshly restored '67 Sport half cab in the latest issue of Vintage Truck magazine. The restoration is of course impeccable. The article is well written and Al Rogers' photography is spectacular. Congrats Jack! I found my copy at a local Barnes and Noble.

Very nice indeed. And I see an interesting outside-the-box front bumper mod there, too.
Early Broncos with the bumperettes had them "inboard" mounted instead of mounted right over the frame rail. If I remember correctly, Jacks '67 U14 Sport is a December '66 build and it has the early style bumpers too. It's a beautiful Bronco and very correctly restored.

Fordfan, not saying you're wrong but I have dismantled a lot of well appointed broncos over the years and they had the bumperettes over the frame rails. Frankly, this is the first one I have even seen like this. Not saying you're wrong necessarily, just more curious if this is an absolute or were they may be installed or moved to the frame rail later. Doesn't really make sense to not have them over the frame rail for less impact resistance IMO.

Yes, Muddy, this is correct. When I say "Early Broncos" had the inboard bumperettes, I really should say that "early Early Broncos" had them mounted inboard the frame. I have three '66s with the inboard features and I post you up some proof when my contributor status is restored.... (Proving this cost me $12).....

Yes, Ill agree it might have not been the strongest design, but it is correct. Later '67s and on did have the bumperettes mounted over the frame.

Agree, 100% correct on the narrow bumperettes…
Beautiful truck, man…
This is not an original Black truck, right?

I still need to try and do a story on that truck and those characters one of these days.

Yes, you should Todd! You are great at those stories! ;)

Have you ever noticed the bumper on the Bronco has already been whacked on the driver's side? The left side is already tweaked, and it left a mark on the grill too! It was probably one of those four stooges that couldn't drive!

I hadn't noticed that! Probably one of those beat up press trucks! Or from one of those four stooges :).
