Hey All,

Have 351W/6R80/Atlas II mocked up. Can anyone tell me if I'm clocked too high for floor clearance? Planning on 2" BL. Is there a measurement from top of frame to body floor (under driver) I can get? HAve the TDK frame with gives me an extra inch on the inside of the rails. Pictures I found here show Atlas front yoke under crossmember. Thank you for the help.

Unless you have a high pinion front axle, (even then) I would be way more concerned with driveline U-joint angle at the front pinion! That is why the the yolk is under the crossmember in most applications.
Have you cycled your front suspension with a driveline installed?

Thanks. I do have a 1979 HP Dana cut down. Have not cycled suspension. Trying to get the body ready for paint, Hoping to have it on-and-off frame as few times as possible during mock-up.

If you want the crossmember to be below the case, you can get creative.....

So good. I don't necessarily want it be below. Depends if I have room below body for a more "level" Atlas.

P.S. you may be the guy who set me up with my console builder cable shifter for Atlas. If so, thank you. He is working on it now and it's looking great.

looking at back of tranny, that is basically where flat rear section of floor starts. You may have issue with seat track and seat belt mounting.

Seems you could go to body, measure from that driver side Body mount hole, measure back and see how much room you have. Looks tight.

More going on underside, emergency brake stuff.

Ditto angle atlas to front diff is pretty extreme.

I have a 4r70w and atlas II installed. It looks to me you will be high mount the body in a stock configuration.

You running a body lift?

Yes. 2" . I will drop it one adapter ring hole tonight. It will be super close dropping it much more driver. 1350 yoke prob need to go if body won't fit.

Mine is clocked same as your but I have a 2” body lift and notched my floor just a touch where it contacted. My body is in primer so I can still make hidden little mods like that. If my body were painted I’d have needed to clock it lower. It is a pretty minor little modification to the floor for an Atlas position I really like better.

What Jon said- Even with 2" body lift for floor clearance it looks too high even for a HP D60. I have 31deg on my front DS at full droop (granted I have 16 vert inches of travel) but, only 10" of that is down usually so for a typical EB with 3 1/2" of susp lift with appr 14" of travel your frame is actually sitting higher off than mine is and you only have 4" uptravel so 10" down- similar to mine with my susp and 40"s. My ProCase yoke is lower than yours.

Okay. I lowered it and have a replacement 1310 yoke on order from AA. With 2" body lift I'm looking at 9 degree driveline tilt. Any issues with engine oiling at that tilt??

No engine oiling issues. Pump pickup is in the rear of the pan.

AA sells some of the worst quality yokes that I've ever seen. You might call them up and make sure they are at least a forged yoke. None of their yokes that come on Atlas cases are forged... least they didn't use to be.

I have shattered an Atlas yoke when snow wheeling!! Convince me somehow that a tire spinning in snow should be able to shatter a t-case yoke.
