hydroboost banjo fitting

Was bumming around and came across a different approach to hydroboost fittings. Just wondering if anyone has tried this?
Thinking it might make for some better plumbing. I really dislike setting up hoses with multiple angle fittings. I always like at least one straight fitting on each hose. Keeps the hose from getting into a (rotational) bind when installed.

I've never seen those, but I like them! For the same reasons. Setting up multi-angle hoses is a PITA that I likewise try to avoid. Thanks for sharing.

I used a similar fitting on my Edelbrock carb for the fuel line, needed to be able and put a dropped-base air cleaner on to clear the hood. Worked out really well.

Did you end up going with those Banjo style fittings with O-rings? If so, did they seal ok?

I have not tried them yet. On the radar for the next project, but the next project is not on the radar.

I’ve seen similar withe the o ring seal were ok BUT after about 6-7 years with limited use on a customers vehicle they were leaking and made quite a mess , I think a copper sealing ring works better .

Summit racing sells a set by Unisteer. Was thinking of using them, but am concerned with flow. Called summit, and they don't recommend banjo fittings for power steering.

I can guess why. For the PS box itself the flow is such that a banjo fitting would be a significant loss of flow. With an H-B system the H-B unit likely won;t notice or care, but since the fluid going to the PS box flows thru the H-B unit now it's a problem. Tom Lee, founder of Lee Power Steering, told us to only use straight adapters and formed tube type non-straight hose ends, NEVER one of the machined block type of hose end or adapter.

That said, sometimes you have no choice.

Thanks Bowsher for the redirection. I am curious if the banjo fittings are problematic, how are the bronco houses getting away with using them? Wild horses has been using them for years it would appear.
