    New Engine High Temp

I suspect your thermostat is not working. Can you see/feel coolant moving through? 190 is your ideal goal..you don/t even want 225. And what coolant are you using? is it clean after you ran the motor. What engine oil did you put in for break-in.

Change my rear end gear in my 66 U14 to what ?

Yep ! Don’t change gears on it. If you decide to sell it yiu get more if you keep it stock than change one thing for performance that is not widely desired like 302. When you decide to change it go all the way 302/coyote. Keep your gears as they will let you run bigger tires like 33s. I hv a 66...

    Cooling Issues

Given that they changed liquids and sensors my bet is on the coolant. Or fan reversed(not sure if they need to remove for above service) the shop guys these days dont touch anything more than they need to

    Cooling Issues

Its a dumb question, because things started heating drastically after service without changing fan setting , did they put right coolant? Either that or sensors are bad . only way hyou know is check engine after driving a bit. When opening the hood, if it feels like a bonfire it is indeed 210 but...

    1975 BRONCO HOOD JAMMED

ya tough it out...dont worry about paint, cord is best bet. You can always get touchup paint to redo any scratches. These vehicles are built to be rugged we baby'em too much , i bet they dont like it.

Brass radiator, no paint under hood and a jack! Nice. May I ask how many original miles on it?

Change my rear end gear in my 66 U14 to what ?

Thats close to stock size. (28-29in) As others stated that gear ratio is highly desirable. These straight inline motors were designed for high low end torque operation. Are you hitting more than 3k RPM at 65mph?how much more. If you want to get better highway performance start looking into...

Change my rear end gear in my 66 U14 to what ?

I would try to answer your original question. I would say 3.5s it would be around $2k these days (parts +labor). But once you change rear to 3.5 then your front diff gears would be off from rear and you wont be able to use 4wd, so that will cost you addl 2k to change front if you want to retain...

Red 72 Explorer Sport Patina Rebuild

I am new to this thread, I like the build you are doing closer to stock. Typically when you have erratic idle its an indication of vacuum leak. Have you checked for vacuum leaks? typically around carb base and/or all vacuum ports Try vacuum leak route first before changing dist. Unless its...

    74 Instrument Voltage Regulator

Ah didn't know so much goes on behind that little IVR. So i'll stay with it as is, as its showing 50PSI , and change my temp gauge and see if it at least stays at one spot instead of swinging from 0 to high every 3mins or so. Now I know my IVR works because its working well with my brand new oil...

    74 Instrument Voltage Regulator

Autobots! I have been working on my new addition -74 bronco. One of my shop guys did the electrical for me using painless harness from WH. He is not an expert but did 1-2 broncos before so kind of okay with electrical. Only fuel gauge was working when I got from him. Temp was always full. and...

    RPMs Tire Size conundrum

I will take a higher ground here and don't make derogatory remarks because i respect this forum. You on other hand do not respect another's view point and jump calling someone a fool, such an easy path to take. Quoting bible doesn't make you smart. It only exposes your weakness. I still respect...

    RPMs Tire Size conundrum

@ntsqd you are projecting you confusion to me , im trying to be the therapist here. Mostly acknowledged industry approach is called rolling circumference, so you have to prove your theory not me.! As few others mentioned above it is recommended to inflate or deflate both your tires at same...
