    Went to Sears today,,,Tool Questions

4" Makita You don't want to use a Dremel to cut body panels. I cut off both rear quarter panels on my 78 Bronco using a 4" Makita angle grinder and Dewalt cutting discs. I also cut out the majority of the driver's side floor pan using the same tool. My angle grinder gets more use than even my...

    Shipping a bronco??

And if you can't do this I'd suggest doing a Google or phone book search for "freight haulers" or "oversize freight" and calling up a few companies. Have the measurements and weight (or as close as you can guess) ready and you can probably get a decent estimate.

    Shipping a bronco??

Shipping my '78 and '74 Broncos from Jacksonville, NC to Twentynine Palms, CA (2600 miles) is costing me $2200. If the truck doesn't run (both of mine do) you will pay $200-$300 extra.

    EB as a DD!?!

From early 2001 to late 2003, my daily driver was a '78 Bronco. I had a short 15 minute drive and I looked forward to the rest. In 2003 I put it away to start a resto on it and got a $6000 beater compact car to drive until I was done. In 2005 I bought a 74 Bronco and attempted to use it as a...

    Moving to Twentynine Palms, CA

Soon after I leave this sandbox (Baghdad) I'll be heading to another, Twentynine Palms, CA. I'm looking forward to it. I've seen some people on here from the San Diego area but I'm wondering if there are any that are closer to where I'll be. I'm looking for someone to turn wrenches with and...

    90210 Bronco

Semper Fi Mack! Parris Island Marine here but man do I love Pendleton. Nice Bronc by the way. Coachbarnes, any chance of your son going for a commission in the the Marines after the Academy? One of my lieutenants is an Academy grad and I'm always impressed with the quality that they put out.

Help a buddy in Iraq out.

This is an interesting post because I am a Marine stationed in North Carolina and also bought my second Bronco (an EB) last year while I was in Iraq. Fortunately I bought it from a buddy so I knew what I was getting. Assuming your buddy is stationed here in NC, tell him that if he waits until he...

    Needs Some Body Work

Once I'm done with the restification of my 78 Bronco I'm going to pull this one in the garage and do a frame-off.
  11. Rear Quarters are Cut

    Rear Quarters are Cut

At first glance the Bronco looks uncut but it's not. A while back someone decided to trim them to fit larger tires. Wish they would've just done a slight body lift and left it uncut.

After getting the plant-growth off of it it looks much better.

    First Day Home

I bought this from a friend while over in Iraq. This is it the first day I got it. It had sat in a backyard for a year but was in great mechanical condition.

    Rust

I don't know if this the "best" way to do this but it's certainly a good way: Get Naval Jelly and steel wool. Spray naval jelly on floor pan and let sit for 30 minutes. Scrub with steel wool until the rust is gone. Wash thoroughly. Then paint with POR 15 or ZeroRust or Rust Bullet. This has...

Broncos To Avoid (or Horror At First Sight)

If you had throttled that guy I would understand. I've done that on two separate occasions but they weren't nearly that bad. Sorry you ended up wasting your time.

    460 Powered EB

Wow! That thing must go like a raped ape. I've been thinking about swapping a 460 into my 78 Bronco but I'd never considered it for my EB. Nice conversion and great truck.

New Bronco Owner from Jax, NC

Hello all, I'm a newbie to the site and to early Broncos. I bought a '74 EB from a buddy of mine last month while we were still in Iraq. Now that I'm back I've got a chance to check it out and I'm very happy with it. It's got 70,000 miles on the original 302 and the compression in each cylinder...
