1969 Bronco Radiator Overflow Tank Install

Hey All! Got a question on the install of a radiator overflow tank for my 1969 Bronco. Does the hose need to be inserted so that it touches the bottom of the overflow tank or inserted enough so that it can be clamped down. For reference, this is what I am trying to install...
