Awesome. Thanks for clarifying! Does the existing transfer case shifter hole need to be cut out more as well to fit the boot layout, or just trace out and cut for the shifter?

JB thanks for chiming in as I had the same question while I’m about to swap in the NV3550. However, which orientation should we use when using boot for template? (Dunno why the pictures seem to upload 90 degrees out).

Did a search and came up empty... Google too. Anybody opt to do so and any real advantage to doing this? Hopefully reassembling the NV3550 conversion next week or so and I see it talked about, but no examples.

Getting started on the NV3550 swap and twin sticks.

Pretty stoked. Adapter is in route. Due in next week from advance. The whole shebang gonna cost less than a “new” rebuilt. Looking forward to proper highway driving with the 4.88’s.

Went for it. Couldn’t pass it up for $200. Short shifter alone worth $300. Talked to the shop that did the work on it and says they did the full Monty on it and to bring it by and he’ll look at it. It shifted and turned like butter by hand.

That’s always my assumption. Specially at the price they have it listed at. But then again there are people out here that have and throw money away...

They said it was rebuilt at Transaction Transmission in Sun Valley, CA, ran it for a few miles in his YJ, then swapped out the transmission and transfer case. They have mixed reviews on yelp. Mostly 5 stars with a few 1 stars peppered in there. Has anyone here have experience with this shop?

I might have found a too-good-to-be-true local deal on a NV3550 with a B&M short shifter. They claim it’s been rebuilt with about 200 miles on it (I’m waiting to hear back from them on who did the rebuild). The pictures look clean. Is there any way to check for anything that might be a red flag...

Ok so what I’ve noticed is the temperature gauge reads accurate during the day, but at night when the headlights are on, it reads way hot. What I saw tonight was after I turn off the bronco and let the gauge fully go down, I turn the key back into the on position and watch the gauge creep up and...

This morning the temp gauge kept between 170-190 with the outside temp a bit warmer and my commute 40 mins with lots of stop and go.. so who knows? ?:? Fuel remained up near the 3/4 mark.
