Pig tail for back up lights NP-435

I am looking for the pig tail that goes to the back up switch on a NP-435 transmission. It has two wires and clips into the switch onthe trans. I attached a picture of the end of the switch. I want to finally make my back up lights work after over 15years. Anyone know a part number or source for...

Transfer case Removal Question/ Now Install

Glad I am not the only one that thinks its backwards. The truck always shifted good, Yeah I am sure there is some oil on it but not enough for me to pull that out and replace it too. Its all going to get a brake cleaner bath before I put it back together. Looks like I will have to pull the...

Transfer case Removal Question/ Now Install

So the trans is out, I am cleaning everything up. I was hoping to find the pig tail to the wiring harness for the back up lights. I havent had working back up lights on this truck in almost 20 years. The switch in the trans works and is in good shape but I need the female wiring harness that...

Show me your stock suspension height EB with no body lift!

This is the 1970 sport I had. Stock suspension no body lift cut rear fenders. front fenders have a little trimming by previous ower. Tires were a 33x 10.5x 15 with a 15x8 rim. Looked great and only had very minor rub at full lock . Dam I miss this truck!

Transfer case Removal Question/ Now Install

Leak was between the adaptor plate and the trans. The seal between the adaptor plate and 6cyl adaptor housing was good. And I assume the only reason it leaked was because the bolts became loose so it started moving around and broke the seal. I did some digging and it looks like I did this...

Transfer case Removal Question/ Now Install

See the pictures and description below. I didnt make it up LOL. The adaptor worked fine for a while, it was at least 15 years since i did the trans swap in this truck. The oil leak started getting bad about 2 years ago.

Transfer case Removal Question/ Now Install

Mine is not an Advance Adaptor. It was a Dynamic Concepts Adaptor. I believe he was a member of this sight back in the day. It utilized the upper right hand hole in the trans and through bolted into the machined adaptor.

Clunking when getting on and off the gas

Check the yoke on the rear axle and the output of the transfer case. You may find they are loose and will have slop in them, the nut maybe loose causing the yoke to be loose on the shaft this can cause a clunk when getting on and off the gas.

Transfer case Removal Question/ Now Install

LOL yeah I guess it is more. I put it in by myself when I as much younger, stronger and stupid! It could be 20 lbs these days and it would be too much! I just picked up the biggest transmission jack that Harbor Freight had. I will try and tackle it in the next few days, one issue I have is...

Transfer case Removal Question/ Now Install

Well this didnt go as expected. I removed the transfer case last week. Managed to do it with out taking the exhaust off. Found the aluminum NP-435 adaptor was loose on trans, I mean really loose, so that was where my leak was coming from for sure. I removed the bolts that connect it to the trans...

Needing direction on a new restoration

All good advise and I too will say try to keep it running and work on it when you can. So many guys go full resto and find they dont have the time or money to complete it. So the project sits and either takes years to do or gets sold unfinished. Good luck and have fun!

    Ford Warranty Coverage

Dont be afraid of the 2.7. Mine has been flawless but I only have 20K on it. I have the 2.7 in my 2 door and its fast especially in sport Mode. I have had it since early 2023. I love it but am considering getting a four door but only because of the few reasons below. 1. The fuel tank is way...

    FB marketplace vs. Craigslist

I wont do Facebook market place. Too much BS. I have sold my last two boats on Craigslist and bought a bunch of Broncos over the years off of Craigslist no issues. You do get some spam and bots but they are pretty easy to weed out. I find the people buying and selling are more serious than FB.

Transfer case Removal Question/ Now Install

On my 67 bronco I have an NP-435 manual trans and a stock Dana 20 transfer case. I need to pull the transfer case out to replace the gaskets between the adaptor, transmission, and the transfer case since I have a major leak. I cant remember if I need to do anything with the transmission to...

    Ford Warranty Coverage

Glad to hear they stepped up and covered it. Knock on wood my broncos have been good. My wifes 2022 Balck Diamond has about 60,000 miles on it and has only been back for a wonky rear window that was covered under warranty. I only got 20K on my 2 door and no real issues yet. The starter thing...

    wheels and tires

Stay away from wheels over 17" in Dia. especially for only a 34" tire. These are a classic truck and they just dont look right with the giant dia rims. Also 34" tires are an odd size these days you will find much more in the 33" or 35" size. I am considering up grading to a 17" wheel with...
