Well, I did the burping tonight and I did get quite a bit of air out of the system. I let it run quite a while and it didn't overheat. I got up to about 200 according to the gauge but I think the needle is bent. I took a measurement with an IR temp gauge and it was reading 178 at the cap area...

I put in a new thermostat when I did the conversion but I didn't change the pump. It seems to crank normally and starts pretty quickly. I checked and double checked the t-stat installation when I put it in. I am pretty sure that it is in correctly but I will check again. Thanks for all the ideas.

Not knowing your bronco could it be the tires rubbing on the inner fender wells or the radius arms? Mine rub on the radius arms when I back up and my wheels are turned but my tires are 15.5 wide.
