What have you done to your Bronco today?

I spent some time smoothing out seal seats, bearing seats, and mating surfaces on my Dana 44. I think someone used a punch and 10 pound hammer to work on this thing. Looks like they tried to stake the axle seals. 🤣 It also didn’t have outer pinion bearing shims. I guess that’s possible. Does ARB...

SCAMMER using my name to sell parts

SOB! I guess I’m not getting my built to the hilt Dana 60s for $35. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Who has cable twin shifter on their Atlas....any install issues?

I got the AA cable shifter kit with the Atlas TC. Well, since it’s here, I’ll make it work. If things go south I’ll go with JB. A few years back I had a JB cable shift for a 205. I never installed it because plans changed. It was a beefy product though.

Throwback Weekend, April 12-14 Townsend TN

I didn’t see anything about the vendors. I wonder if they’ll be somewhere for the throwback as well.

What have you done to your Bronco today?

I ordered an ARB locker for the front. Great Black Friday deal. Wouldn’t have known it without the reference from another Bronco owner. Very thankful.

Explorer motor swaps what years did you install

I went with a 97 Mountaineer 5.0 with P heads. There’s nothing wrong with P heads. If your crafty, they’ll work great. I’m still in the chassis stage of my build. I had a great discussion with an Edelbrock tech yesterday. I’m putting the Ford EFI on the shelf for now and going with a Pro Flow 4.

Classic EB video from the Bronco 35th Anniversary in 2001

Everyone did just fine without bead locks. 😂

Classic EB video from the Bronco 35th Anniversary in 2001

Thank you Todd! This is top notch. I’ve been searching around for a video like this (with Early Broncos) for a while. There is some newer stuff but the classic footage can’t be beat IMHO. If I’m not mistaken, I think one or two of those are still around. I got some work on the Bronco this week...

Learning to drive 3 on the tree - finally 😂

Haha. “Not Light Bright Nation.” That’s hilarious. Great video. Mitch, do these comments count for the giveaway or does it have to be on the Youtubes?

Buffer plate for radius arm pivot boxes

Great advice and something I need to be reminded of constantly. I’ll overthink a bowl of cereal sometimes. 😂

Buffer plate for radius arm pivot boxes

Thanks Todd. That holds a lot of weight. I’m anxious to install them and get this thing on wheels.

Buffer plate for radius arm pivot boxes

Brilliant! That’s the missing link and I have yet to mock up the crossmember for the ZF5.

Buffer plate for radius arm pivot boxes

Thanks all. There’s no better place to bounce ideas off of professionals. As always I received tremendous help. 👍🏻

Buffer plate for radius arm pivot boxes

Awesome points James! I should have taken better pics of the pivot boxes. They were made with one ear on the outside of each. I’ll supply a better pic. I would have preferred two ears per box as now I’m forced to weld along the inside (welded) seam of the frame. But they may have their reasons...

Buffer plate for radius arm pivot boxes

Thanks Yeller! After mulling it over and help from y’all, I decided to ditch the buffer plate and proceed with the original setup in the pic. I’m not sure why the pivot boxes were made with only one ear on the outside but I’m going to roll with it.

Buffer plate for radius arm pivot boxes

Thank you sir. It seems like a great to solution to getting the job done while keeping as much strength in the frame as possible. And it’s possible a cross weld on a frame won’t harm anything, but when I think of the precious cargo that’ll be riding along, every bit of strength is piece of mind.

Buffer plate for radius arm pivot boxes

Hi all, I came across a write up regarding leaf spring hangers and welding them to a frame. Although the material pertains to a trailer, they’re are some relative practices to welding on a Bronco frame. Later in the article they review the use of a buffer plate that allows for parallel welds...

    Degreeing leaf perches

Thank you sir. I see how keeping it smooth after cleaning the axle tube would make it easier to clock the axle assembly when the time comes. That’s less to regrind and get in the way.
