Source for Dana 20 Shift Rails - T Shift - Not Twin Stick

I'm in the middle of a rebuild on my 1969 T-shift Dana 20 and realized my shift rails are boogered up. I tore down one of my spare t-cases and the shift rails in that are worse. I don't want to go twin stick, but that's all that's out there that I can find on shift rails. Anyone know where I...

Are My Dana 20 T-Shift Gears Junk? Perfect? Somewhere In Between?

I'm rebuilding a Dana 20 T-shift for my '69 Bronco barn find project. When I drained the fluid, it was really thick and sparkly, so that made me nervous. Anyway, this is my first time rebuilding one, so I'm not sure what right looks like. I don't need perfect (i.e., I don't want to spend $500...

    Snap Ring Hell - Dana 20 T

Tearing down the Dana 20 in my '69. It's a t-shift so it has the lock ring. Any tips on getting it out? I can get on it, but just barely, with some Knipex snap ring pliers that I slightly modified, but still no joy. Also, if I ever manage to spread it, which way do I go with it? Thanks! Scott

Recommendation on 3 Speed Manual Rebuild Kit?

I see Wild Horses has a rebuild kit that has decent ratings, but I'm wondering if anyone had any recent experience and recommendations on kits. I blew my '69 apart and need to rebuild the trans. . Thanks, Scott

    Budget'ish '69 302 Garage Rebuild...

Time to get moving on the project barn-find '69 Bronco that I bought way back in 2019. I got it running several years ago but the original 302 block is cracked, so that has to go. I'll yank the engine/trans/transfer case this weekend. I sourced a 302 out of another early Bronco to build...

Dana 30 Kingpin Removal - Any Tips?

I'm disassembling a 19968 model Dana 30 and the king pins are giving me trouble. Any tips besides using heat, Kroil, and a bigger hammer? thanks, Scott

    Dana 30 Carnage; What Happened?

Bought a Dana 30 to build for my '69 Bronco. Yes, I know they're weak; it's just a stopgap measure until I build a D44. Anyway, I pulled the front cover yesterday after work and found some carnage. Fook. There were a few smallish chunks of metal in the oil when I drained it; some were just a...

1999 Explorer 5.0 Swap Into '69 - Carbureted, Manual Fuel Pump?

My stock 302 is tired and has a crack in the front of the block, so I've been looking for a while for an affordable roller 302, bare block, or short block. There's an affordable 1999 Exlplorer 5.0 available nearby that I'm interested in. I want to run carbureted and with manual fuel pump (I...

I'm selling my 1966 Fairlane convertible. It's restored. I just retired from the Army after 26 years and need the funds to start a business. Currently on eBay with No Reserve -...

302 Startup After Sitting for 20 Years - Step By Step

One of my favorite things to do is revive an engine that's been sitting for a while. I recently did a start-up on the 302 in a '72 project Bronco and I thought I'd post it here, since it appears to be a fairly common topic. The video includes a step-by-step list of the steps that I took...

SOLD 68 Half Cab Project - Texas

1968 Bronco U14 Bronco – Original Half-Cab. $10,000. Located in New Braunfels, TX at Badass Broncos. Clear Texas title in my name, Warranty (glovebox) Tag, title, and frame VIN stamp all match; that's getting pretty rare these days. It was originally Medium Turquoise, which is a...

Is There a Trick to Getting Bearings Off 9" Axle Shafts?

I have some stock 28 spline axles from my 69 that have the stock sealed bearings. Rear diff is apart for a basic cleanup and inspection, and I'm going to change out axle bearings, axle seals, and pinion seal/nut/crush collar. On the bearing removal, what I usually do is cut the suckers off...

Damaged Leaf Spring Hanger Bracket - Hogged Out Holes

Fellas - Removed the redneck* rear springs from my '69 yesterday noticed that the holes are hogged out on the frame mount where the front eye mounting bolt passes through. I'm guessing the PO removed the rear springs at some point (or at least unbolted them) and didn't torque the bolt down...

Options for 9" 31 Spline Upgrade...

Fellas - I'm ready to upgrade the 28 spline small bearing 9" and wanted to check to see if I was on the right track. Intended use of this '69 Bronco is on and off road, but it won't be a hard core rock crawler. Tires are currently 32 x 11.5 x 15. Plan to add a fairly stout 347 in the...

Any Pictures of Cut/Flared Bronco, Not Lifted, With 33x12.50x15's?

My '69 desperately needs new tires. I thought about staying with stock steel wheels and mounting some 31 x 10.50 x 15's on them but I don't think the 31's would do a great job of filling out the cut wheelwells. Current plan is to get some BFG radial mud terrain or all terrains and mount them...

How to Attach Nylon Fuel Line to Pump and Tanks?

The fuel line and tank situation on my '69 was a bit of a mess. I have both tanks cleaned and reinstalled with new sending units. I rebuilt a vintage fuel pump with the vacuum fittings on top. I'm using Dorman 5/16" nylon fuel line. It had 5/16" on it and I'm sure it will be sufficient for a...

Barn Find to Daily Driver - a "Drive it Ugly" '69 Bronco Project!

The truck in question is a Springtime Yellow '69 that came out of a barn in Mississippi several years ago. Old hunting truck that was complete and very solid, but beat up from years of running around in the woods. Pretty much all original except for paint. 302, 3 sp, 9", Dana 30, vacuum...
