my front driveshaft rattles like crazy and i was just wondering if i should just buy the rebuild kit or a new driveshaft all together? also which parts place sells the best stock driveshaft? oh, and the noise is coming from the cv joint. thanks
being that i dont take me bronco off-road that much would it be okay to just silicone one side of the vent cap to stop it from rattling. i dont know, maybe i am wrong but mine just seems to rattle alot more than others, i mean it can be heard very clearly when going only about 25 and it didnt...
well i did some research and now know that it is the vent for teh t-case. but is it supposed to be loose and rattle? the noise gets progressively louder as i drive faster and it is audible above the engine and road noise.
i looked under my 71 bronco today to try and find out what was causing a rattling sound. on top of the d-20 t-case i saw a little cylinder going up towards floor about an inch high. it was topped off with a metal cap (the whole thing looked like a mushroom). the cap was loose and was causing...
i just did a conversion after my axle snapped. i had a stock bb axle and put moser 31 spline axles with an auburn limited slip in the back. if you go moser then you need their bearings and stuff that go with the package. but besides that and a new differential thats all you need to convert to 31
what up dmb. im 18 and the current owner of a 1971 bronco living in charlotte. i got my bronco about 2 years ago out of atlanta and ill be honest i got a lemon for what me and my dad paid for the truck (10000). the body was in great shape but the drivetrain has been horrible. ive sunk some...
so im back from college on winter break and after 3 weeks of succesful bronco driving im rounding a turn in my neighborhood and i hear a loud snap. well knowing how tough a bronco is i just figured i ran over a jeep or somethin. but when the car veered of to the right and then started spinning...
i have an 8 inch console in my 71 and it fits real nice with the stock seats. in my opinion the 10 inch would be too large if you are considering larger seats. the 8 inch is larger than you would think because of its depth and height plus they come with trays to put other items on.
as a relative novice to the broncos (hence the "newbie" label) i am trying to take my top off. yet in the directions for the stc zipper top it says to unfasten the k-locks. what are the k-locks? and where are they? it is most likely something very obviuous. thanks.
just removed mine about 5 days ago. i weighs about 200 pounds. took three people to lift it up and put it into storage. the biggest problem is its size. if you want to remove it easy then get 4 people. 2 in the front at the windsheild area and 2 it the back by the posts that extend out at...
yeah, ive got the same problem. i figured out that my fiberglass hood has no slits in it so air cant get out of the engine compartment. so all the air gets forced down through the heater and onto my foot. plus i have no control over the temp. how would you solve this?
i am about to put a soft top on my bronco and i was wondering whether to paint the rods that go on the back of the body. i was going to paint them with rustoleum but i dont know if it will peel or not. has anybody painted theirs? any suggestions?
hey komodo72 i just put a new fiberglass hood on my 71 bronco and have the origianal hood in great condition. it is painted blue and has no rust or anything. i live in charlotte getting it to you wouldnt be that bad of a problem. email me at tcallahan@carolina.rr.com if you are interested.
dennis carpenter by far. they make their own products and you can by direct from them, saving the "middle man" mark up price. www.dennis-carpenter.com/pdf/bronco.PDF
about 12000. NEW d44, tilt column, steering wheel, 6 pt. roll cage, soft top, pw steering, tires, hinges, engine mods, hood, gas tank, etc. it adds up quick.
i live in the southern part of charlotte. i got a 71 on 33's with about a new set of everything. i would be glad to get together of talk, but being that i am 17 i doubt i could drink beers.
ok, heres my story.....I am 17 years old and bought my first bronco about a year ago. to get my parents (who were as uptight as yours at first) to buy me one was to get the paying party i.e. my dad interested in old cars. he had issues with the old technology and the lack of airbags and so on...
everytime that i eat heavy foods i seem to have alot of... j/k. my real problem is that my gas tank keeps leaking gas, not alot, but a slow drip. it is coming from the point where the fuel guage line comes right out of the tank. i have just recently replaced the sending unit and the problem...
