Anyone installed a 1 inch body lift on their stocker and still use the factory t shift indicator cover? Wondering if the geometry would be off since the cover would be sitting an inch higher than designed, and may limit the movement of the t-case shifter?

Am I over thinking this?

You're theory seems logical. You could run into needing to open the hole up as well.

They are no longer lined up after a body lift. Plus you cant bend the shifter back into a better shape because of the t shift shifter linkage.

You can use 4 low and 2 high, but the lever bottoms on the cover if you try to go into 4 high. (Speaking from experience).

Speaking from experience you will break the plastic cover if you try.... :(

After gluing it back together I was able to carefully clearance it. Never got around to poking holes in my rubber mat and screwing it down though.

Best picture I have of a 1 inch body lift and a 4R70W.

Shifter moved back 1.5", including the size of the opening.

Made an aluminum cover plate, with flat rubber sheet for a gasket.

A single WH shifter boot and retaining ring.

Cut and modify until it fits.

I have a 2" body lift and did two things; 1. redrilled the shifter to shorten the throw and 2. elongated the slot in the black plastic cover to allow the chrome piece to slide up and down thus allowing more travel.

After looking at my spare T-shift housing, it seems apparent that the shifter pivot has to be close to the focus of the housing radius. Close but not exact. I'm curious how much difference in this radius would allow the housing to still work. Maybe mounting it below the surface of the floor on a sunken platform would fix your problem.

I will do some testing with my 1" body lift and see what I can find out. Not afraid of slotting the housing, but I don't really want to move the mount holes.

Sorry for the hijack but what kind of rear mat is that and where can I find it? Thanks
