• Be EXTREMELY cautious if someone offers to buy your Bronco for more than your asking price and sight unseen. ESPECIALLY if the buyer is overseas. It's probably a scam.

Truck in my restoration thread was also an estate sale truck. When I got my hands on it, the little old lady who owned it kept all sorts of notes, including notations like: " I can't believe the insurance company fixed the truck and did not total it."

Checked this one out yesterday. Its clean, but not worth $16,500. More like $8-10k.

Has rust up under the dash, and there might be more lurking as there was a few spots of light shining in through the top of the door post area. Probably missing weather sealant, and the water leaked in. The driver side floor has been patched and looks like it was riveted on, with a bunch of sealer around the patch - yuk. More sealer on the passenger side floor, but did not see a patch. There is rust forming on the top body line of one rear quarters where a lot of Broncos have problems. Maybe someone put a new quarter on it and did not seal it right. The underside, posts, and rest of floor look good. Usual door alignment problems, but rockers and fenders are good.. It also has a crappy soft top that had to have braces screwed onto the rear tailgate. I guess thats how you mount these things, but its a shame since you can't put the tailgate down, with out undoing the top a little.

I was told that it was a recent restoration by the current owner. He and his wife wants to "downsize" and get rid of a bunch of things. Supposedly he put $15k into it, which looks about right. He wasn't at the sale, but the rep from the sale company said they have been getting lots of inquiries and everyone says its priced too high.

Overall nice truck and I'm sure he has put a lot of time and money into it and its "his baby", so he wants to get what he feels its worth. But anyone who knows these won't pay that much for it in its current state. I'd tear it apart and fix that rust in the dashboard and rear quarter before it gets worse.

Not that I could tell. But I couldn't get them up on a lift to be sure.
