1966 bronco liftgate handle

I have a 1966 bronco and liftgate is different. Can I use the handle from later bronco and reuse my latch rods and hardware. The 66 has seperate lock but I dont mind just putting it back in and not using it. My handle was destroyed when removing and cant find another one.
