• Be EXTREMELY cautious if someone offers to buy your Bronco for more than your asking price and sight unseen. ESPECIALLY if the buyer is overseas. It's probably a scam.

True 1966 Ford Bronco Roadster, U13 vin code. Bought from original owner's son in 1994 in Charlotte, NC. 75,103 original miles, engine re-built in 1999 but only 1,000 miles since then. Has been in storage since 2000 and not driven at all since 2006 until two weeks ago.

New high-quality, custom-made seat covers to match the original factory spec vinyl including gray color and texture. Not sure if the paint is original (it's not been painted since I've had it) but is in very good condition. Slight bubble rust under paint in one place on front right corner; slight surface rust on floor pans; slight surface rust on the bumpers. When I say "surface", I mean surface.

Just had all fluids changed, new tires (235/75R15 Goodyear radials), new battery, new brakes, new master cylinder, new right front wheel cylinder, new front seals. My mechanic could not find a new distributor cap or button for it so it "bucks" a little on take off. Original 1-barrel carb could stand a re-build.

--original 170cid straight-6 engine
--original lock-out hubs on the 4-wheel drive front axle
--original air-bath air filter
--original vacuum windshield wipers
--original hub caps, plus 4 extra rear caps
--original bumpers
--original driver side mirror
--original dash pad
--original eyebrow grill
--original FOMOCO washer fluid bag

Roadsters are an acquired taste. They definitely have their cult following, myself included. But the general public and Bronco community prefer a hard top, doors, AT, PS, PDB and typically a dana 44. There's a reason why only a few thousand were produced for a 3 year production run.
Don't get me wrong, I have and have had more U13's than almost anyone period, but this niche market segment typically won't pay high teens for a driver quality U13.
Hold on to it for a while or lower your asking price. Good luck. This is a nice Roadster! Maybe Barrett Jackson or Mecum is something to consider, that's something to look into.

Thanks for your input. I completely agree a Roadster is not everyone's fancy, I hope I can find a Roadster collector.

I also agree some pictures of it with the top and doors off would help. Unfortunately, I'm in Afghanistan. I have a friend handling things locally but it's too much to ask him to do this.

So...I'll lower price. $17,500.

Wow... nice looking U13! Yeah, it's a cult following for sure! But if you don't get any bites here in the Bronco community you might have better luck with selling it in the classic car markets because of it's rarity. Classic car markets, it's all about the low production numbers and/or uniqueness. I sold my U13 for a lot more money outside of the Bronco community. I personally feel what your asking for the truck is a very fair offer to anyone because of the truck's condition. So if you don't have to sell it right away be patience on the sale, it might have to do more with timing and/or market place then it's price.

Good luck with the sale. I hope she bring you good money because the truck is worth it!!!

I'll be watching the auction and I know of a few other roadster geeks like myself will be too.
