I have a Bronco Design fiberglass tub but I feel like I am doing the 1966 Roadster frame a disservice. I also have 90% of the 1966 U13 parts that I need. So I only need the body. Thus I want to build a steel body, but do I find a rusty used donor 1966 U13 body OR do I buy refab steel and build it. HELP !!!

Welcome to the site! First question is, how are your welding skills?? I've considered finding a matching frame and glovebox door with title for my next project and using the metal kit. But I would want to hire a real welder to do that job.

There's no shame in a fiberglass tub. Just do what makes you happy! You can always do the metal body later.

Welcome indeed!

I know exactly what you mean, in that some cars/trucks need to be restored "right" because of what they are. Good luck with what ever you decide, some good advice in the previous answer.

Theres a company or guy selling assembled steel bodies. Theres a link to his ad in the classifieds. If you want a roadster they could probably do it.

Thx for the recs. I'm not an expert welder by any stretch of the imagination, but I can certainly weld "small areas", but would certainly want to hire a welder for an entire metal kit. Hm....

Hey just sent you a PM

Thanks, having trouble sending pics on the PM but they work here. This tub as you can see is dirty but look at the cowl sections that are typically rusty. It still has the build markings on the inner sheet cowl and fenders, I bought this from a local shop for a Coyote project and paid a lot for it (7200) because it was solid and didn't want to go with an after market body. I was going to put the Carpenter Rear flared quarters on it. I have both uncut and Carpenter quarters that I can add if wanted. This will need work (floors are a little messy)but so will a re-pop as they are not even close to being ready. for prep. I would rather use an original any day as long as it is solid like this one. I was going to use it for a Coyote build but time is getting in my way. I have a 17 Mustang GT donor car as well if someone wants to do this project.

Nobody purchased the tub from me as I have neglected to get it unburied and take pictures to those that have requested them. My apologies.
