PLEASE HELP

Does anyone happen to know where the VIN information is located on the 66 Bronco?

Was there a riveted tag on it, and if so, where would it be?
Or was the VIN stamped on the vehicle somewhere?

Any info would be helpful!

VIN will also be stamped on the passenger side frame near the starter like all other 66-77 years. As Jedhead stated, on the driver kick panel is the VIN badge location for 66 and 67.
What kind of treasure did you find? :)

have a 66 that i was planning on picking up on Thursday. Asked for the vin tag and the owner has never seen or had an actual tag. he looked for the vin number when he was blasting the frame and he told me he never found a vin number on the frame. its insured and registered with the original owners registration that was signed over to the current owner. not sure what to do. the tag/badge is important and needs to be with the vehicle right?

Most important is that the VIN on the frame matches the VIN on the title/registration. It's not too uncommon for a 66/67 kick panel to have been replaced because of rust and VIN badge not replaced. It's also common for an owner to not see the VIN badge on the kick panel unless they just go look for it, it's not always easily seen in that location.

guy did a frame of build on this rig. told me he couldn't find the vin on the frame. it is currently registered with the DOV. if I have the current registration/title in hand you think its good enough of an ownership?

Depends on your local DMV. Here they never look at it unless the previous registration was out of state, and not always then if they are busy.

It may be hard to see, but it's there unless it's been filled in or ground off. How did he confirm it with the paperwork in hand? I think it has potential to be somewhat risky depending on your current and/or future DOV encounters. Won't your DOV want to see a VIN when you title it?

What state are you located and are you transferring to another state? On one of mine here in GA they made me get a police inspection of the vin on the frame.

I am located in Alberta Canada. The registration/title is all I need to transfer it I my name so I am good on that part. My only concern is what happens when I want to sell the truck one day into the The USA or in Canada? Different states/provinces have different rules. That's my only concern is what happens long term from now.

That will depend on the state. In OK, they'll just look at the VIN badge or door jam sticker, they've yet to ask for a frame VIN. There's a few threads about non matching and missing VIN's, etc from a few states, and they really went through some major hoops to seal the deal.

But he doesn't have the codes, as he has no VIN badge or buck tag. Also, what would keep somebody from having a VIN badge made by them for a 66' that's not legit. What keeps a person from having another U15FL732000 made? I'd think they(Marti) would want to verify the legitimacy of it at least a little, which they can't do on any 66'. Just my opinion of course. :)

Marti will request a photo of the original VIN tag if you want them to make a replacement tag.
