Posting this Bronco for a friend.
1969 Ford Bronco. This Bronco was purchased by the current owners in April 1971 when it was just over a year old because the original owner could no longer make the payments. At that time, the Bronco had just over 11,000 miles on it. Since that time, they've averaged about 3,000 miles a year with a total of just over 116K now on the clock.
Over the years it has received meticulous maintenance (all maintenance recorded in a logbook since 4/71) and plenty of tender loving care. The owners have performed selected upgrades to correct some of the "shortcomings" of the '69 models in terms of driveability for modern times. The vacuum wipers were converted to electric with a kit from Ford in 1971. The Dana 30 front axle was converted to a Dana 44 with Chevy discs and power steering was added (converted Scout box). The 3 speed transmission was replaced with a brand new NV3550 5 speed manual OD from Advance Adapters several years ago. The stock Long style clutch was replaced with a modern diaphragm clutch when the transmission was installed.
The engine was rebuilt several years ago and now has approximately 4,000 miles on it since the rebuild. Fed by the stock 2 bbl. carb and a Pertronix electronic ignition, it starts and runs excellent. The electrical system features halogen headlights on relays and a 100 amp 1 wire alternator.
The drivetrain consists of a large bearing 9" axle with 4.11 gears, ARB Air Locker and a Warn full-floating axle kit (31 spline) with locking hubs on the rear. In front, the aforementioned Dana 44 also features an ARB Air Locker along with 4.09 gears.
The suspension is from Wild Horses with 2.5" springs in front and 3.5" leafs in the rear (the truck sits level) with Rancho shocks.
A Protofab bumper with swing-away tire carrier and jerry can holder (both with cam locks) graces the rear of the truck while a stock chrome bumper with an owner-fabricated winch mount is up front. A Warn XD9000i winch is mounted on the front bumper. Rolling stock are 33x10.50/15 BFGoodrich Mud Terrain tires (~85-90% tread) on chrome wagon spoke wheels.
The interior is mostly stock in appearance with recovered stock seats front and rear, some auxiliary gauges, CB, Grant wheel, Stroppe rollbar, and a sprayed-in red bedliner (very tasteful shade) that makes clean up easy after 4 wheeling trips.
The undercarriage on this truck must be seen to be believed. You would be hard-pressed to find one cleaner that sees many road miles - no leaks or drips anywhere. This truck is used for such varied activities as hunting, four wheeling, and even competing in several local car shows. It has won numerous awards and these awards will go with the truck to the next owner.
The truck was repainted several years ago with a $9,000 paint job that included taking the truck's body down to bare metal prior to paint. The buildup also included all new gaskets and seals and as such, the truck feels tight and quiet in operation.
The owner claims $40,000 in receipts from over the years and this documentation is all included in the sale in addition to the original dealership window sticker and other information not often found with trucks of this age.
A full compliment of spare parts and accessories come with the truck, including a custom-fitted vehicle cover, complete vehicle toolkit, winch kit including 2 cables and 2 straps, Hi-Lift jack, shovel, ax, roof rack, and a complete set of spare parts including distributor, carb kit, belts, hoses, filters, etc.
The owners have enjoyed this truck for many years but are getting up in years and have decided it's time to sell their beloved Bronco.
If interested, contact Tom Woods at 602-841-1218 or via email at twoodsjr@cox.net. Tom is a fine gentleman and would be happy to talk to you in detail about the Bronco. The asking price is $18,000.
NOTE: This Bronco was part of the Russo Steele auction in Scottsdale, AZ, in January, 2010. As you may recall, many vehicles at that auction were damaged due to the collapse of a tent during a ferocious storm. This Bronco was under that tent and received what I consider to be some minor cosmetic damage (paint chips, dings, etc.) as a result of the tent's collapse). The asking price has been reduced significantly as a result. The photos accompanying this ad were taken before the events at the auction.
