We finally finished the 1970 kit baja and my customer picked it up yesterday. It will be living in the Los Angeles area. Truck was first sold at Westminster Ford in L.A. area. It was a heavily optioned sport bronco. Acapulco Blue is the factory color (retained). We kept it pretty original except customer wanted head rests, receiver hitch, cobra valve covers and cobra low rise intake and a couple other misc. changes. Note original black Cali plates (restored). I bought the "blue cactus" tire carrier from Andrew, many years ago. It retains its original Stroppe Saginaw power steering. I think this is my favorite truck we have restored. Kinda sorry I sold it, but you can't keep them all. I bought this many years ago. It was located in the Big Bear area. (California) It was a company truck for a dry cleaning business. It had the dry cleaning company logo painted on the doors. Enjoy the pics. Mark in San Diego; Beach City

Wow! That's a beauty Mark! That could easily be my favorite too! I was wondering about the location of the decals on the Stroppe roll bar? I like it there though...

Very nice and tasteful. Maybe I missed the story but was this Bronco one that went through the Stroppe shop by a previous owner?

baja

My assumption is the original owner would have taken it to Stroppe's shop. The story I got was it was owned by an employee of Stroppe but I have never been able to confirm it.

Very nice!! I've always loved the 73' auto steering columns, like the way the indicator is frameless.

Did I put the decals in the wrong spot?

THat rollbar decal typically goes in a more "centered" spot on the rear rollbar portion, rather than positioned forward. Also showed up around 73 and left sometime in '74. But with the mags, cactus smasher, if original, looks like maybe it was kitted in '73 or thereabouts.

Cool truck and great resto. Any before pics avail?

Mark, maybe you could get the new owner to have Baja Broncos Unlimited (Andrew) inspect the truck to see if it was modified at Stroppe's shop and get it verified so it can be on the Kit Baja Registry...?
