1970 Rear Reflectors

I'm trying to replace a reproduction right rear reflector on my 1970 wagon. All of the other lenses/reflectors are original or NOS. My question is should the rear reflectors have the chrome trim around them or not? Currently the left one has no chrome trim and the right one does. This is a base model wagon with no extra exterior trim. I tried searching here and the web. I know, I need to become a contributor. I've been lurking here for the last year or so since I got my Bronco. Thanks.

Yours should be the plain red ones with no chrome trim

That's interesting. I've never seen a Bronco reflector without some kind of bright trim I don't think. Whether the plastic of the later ones, or the metal (stainless maybe?) of the early ones.
Then again, I can't say I've spent much time looking closely at them with the trim in mind either.

When I bought mine from Ford back in about '77 or so (my '71 did not have reflectors), I don't remember there being an option. Maybe when installed at the factory there was a difference, but replacements were all one part number? That could have happened.

If I'd noticed any of the '70 and later ones without chrome, I'm sure I would have thought they'd just broken off at some point.

Yup, my Tampico yellow 72 has tire carrier, and no chrome on the rear reflectors, body or taillights. I have that piece NOS I believe.
