Nice looking setup! Can't wait to see it installed.
My '71 did not have plug shields, but my '79 does. Can't remember seeing any before '75, and even then, not sure I saw them in an EB at all. But that doesn't mean anything really. Just that I don't remember. ;D

Cool. Another running change narrowed down. Pretty soon we're going to have every change ever made to the EB on file here.

I have a complete virtually untouched 302 that came with my 76. 99% there, still has the factory paint marks on the valve covers. The only things can make out to have been replaced are the dist. cap, plugs and wires If anyone needs pictures feel free to pm me.

Here is a diver side pic of my 73. You can see no heatshields. I will get out to it this weekend and get you some better pics if you need them.

Hey ford guy, here's some pics of an early 74', build date 10/73, it has the shields. Can't get a good pic of the riser on the rig, but here's a couple on the bench. Hope this helps, your engine is looking good!!;D;D

My red 73 did not have heat shields for the plugs. Wish I had kept what was left of the heat riser but it was in bad shape and that was long ago.
It has a build date of 1/11/73.

turbotim2 - I thought that was standard....lol....It was like that when I purchased it. The one time it died on me in upstate NY, the garage that fixed it unhooked the jacobs electronic ignition and used the other coil with points, that was about 10,000 miles ago, so it seems to have worked.
