1975 Denver Edition Build

Its time that I start sharing my story/build on my 75-DE Build.

About 17 months ago a fellow co-worker approached my and asked if I new anyone that might be interested in a Bronco, he was clearing out the family cabin getting ready to retire. I asked what year and he thought 70's and that it hasn't been out of the garage in 15 years and before his father pasted away they couldn't get it to run.

Currently I wasn't looking for another project as I have a fully built 87XJ but once he showed me pictures of the Bronco I knew I had to ditch the jeep scene lol.

I told him that if I could afford it I would buy it and sell my XJ and make it my personal rig, he was surprised as he knew the XJ took me 2-3 years to complete. After a few weeks he came back with a price we shook on it and then came the most difficult part telling the wife I wanted to start another car project! I waited several weeks for the right opportunity as it would have been much easier to tell her I've been having an affair. I explained how this was going to be my last project and that's how I came up with the handle Strike2.
I purchased the Bronco not knowing anyone or anything about them and began doing a little research along with joining ColoradoClassicBronco and was quickly educated on the EB history, my plan was to never have a "stock" Bronco despite the rarity of this rig, so for the purist you might not want to follow.

Plans, 302 w/Explorer EFI, 35's, 76-F150 axles, 12" C/O and keeping the Denver Edition paint scheme.

Other than not being able to see pictures, since I am not a member, it sounds like you are doing it right...

Welcome to the Site, hope you post more here...

My intent for the build is to have a capable rig on 35's that will be driving not only to trails but able to go on long trips to multiple states/Baja.
As you'll soon find out it will have a "pre-runner" theme as I grew up in AZ and love desert racing. Since moving to Colorado I've gotten out of the dirt biking to pursue mild trail riding and exploring the mountains with the wife.

The rear is a 4-link upper triangulated from RuffStuff using 1.25 heims and a 3-link front. The rear has a stretched 6-7" in the rear 2" up front. 2.5" 12" King Coil Overs custom valves/springs by Downsouthmotorsports

The cage is 1.5 tubing and tied into the frame/sliders as well has the rear tire cage.

The rear tire cage is something I've yet to see on a Bronco and really wanted to have it as my old XJ had the same design ( which now resides in AZ with a friend)

I was able to find another top, because wanted a safari top since I will not have A/C, the sides are pinned at the bottom using the OEM holes and secured using to 1/2" bolts. I will paint the panels white with a blue top.

Motor is the OEM 302 .30over with a mild cam, using the Gt-40 heads

The light rack was another must have, I will be redesigning it as 5 KC lights didn't fill it out correctly so 6 will look much better. If everything goes as plans I should have 1.5 inches to clear the garage.

Thanks again for all the kind words.
This is my first real build and knew I needed to focus a good portion on suspension, the XJ had the full 4.5 BDS Long Arm and was a great ride so the Bronco needed to ride better to get the wife's approval. I also enjoy making the one off stuff.

Having access to Bronco forum's is such a great benefit for both inspiration/knowledge and way better than magazines yes I'm that old;D

Am I allowed to feel sad?

I admire your fab skills for sure. Your truck you’re rules. I am sure you will enjoy it when finished.

Man, I love it, but it breaks my heart. I would have given you my three Broncos for a chance at owning that one and keeping it original.

You are so talented, and it is looking amazing.
