So I have a friend that has a 1979 F-350 that he never finished restoring and wants to sell me parts off it. Can I use the Auto Steering Column and Power Steering setup from it on my 1970. Are there any other parts I should grab while I'm there? I'm in the process of a I6 conversion to a 302 and C4. Thanks

If it has the intermittent wiper switch grab that, also grab the light switch if its OEM, if it has the OEM duraspark grab the modul and harness to the dizzy, if you have the same engine grab the dizzy. Horn relay. These are just a few I can think of right now maybe others will post more. I grab all the OEM parts I can, they are much better than anything you can buy now

I've installed quite a few of the columns from that series of trucks in to EBs. Like the one I'm building now, in fact. You have to swap the upper brackets from EB to the F-series column.

What about the 4x4 power steering setup? Is this the steering box everyone uses?

Nope. No joy there; the F-150 box is the one for that. And the factory PS pump in the F-350 is the typical plastic Ford piece..and the mounting bracket won't be any use either.

Multiple fuel tanks you can grab the fuel tank selector. Might check out the rear view mirror and see if it mounts the same as the Bronco. I would check the fuel filler door too. If the tailgate is pristine I would grab that as they are going for serious bucks these days.

The power steering box (assuming it's a 4x4) isn't usable for our Broncos but is highly desirable for the earlier model pickup guys.

The front HP D60 axles are the big money items, otherwise I'd probably grab the NP205's in addition to some the items noted above...they make a great door stop. It's one thing if you're paying scrap prices, otherwise I'd tend to be a bit more selective.

I'm sure he would sell the front axle but shipping would be high to Las Vegas from Virginia. Let me see what he wants for one. All I really want is the steering column.
