I am trying to convert my buddies EB to EFI and found a nice 1996 explorer intake/plenum/MAF/Throttle body.

-Will the '86-'93 coolant temp senor fit the manifold?

-Can I use the '86-'93 efi harness and A9L ecm?

-I found harness adapters for the EV6 injectors and have Mallory TFI distributor.

-Does anyone know how to contact EFI Guy for a reflash? I have sent PM's but no response.

Thanks, BI

Coolant temp sensor has the same threads (3/8) different plug on later sensors (explorer vs mustang)(square vs round)

Air temp sensor is screwed into the lower plenum on a mustang and on an explorer it is pushed into the rubber inlet tube/hose. Plugs different as well.

EFI Guy is usually 3-4 months out on harnesses, but does a turn around on ECU's in a week or two. He doesn't spend a lot of time on the site, but he does check it.

If you are up for a challenge, on my 67 EB with a 96 Explorer motor, I am running a Mustang EGR 67mm spacer and a modified 96 Explorer 65mm TB, (swapped a swing arm from a 55mm TB) with mustang throttle cable and brackets. I am using the Explorer gaskets, and there is some minor clearancing that needs done to align the ports. I did all this to eliminate the EGR 90* elbow, but keep the EGR. This ONLY works on the 96 manifold since the exhaust gases are internally fed.
You could do the same thing with an EGR block off plate instead and plug the lower plenum's exhaust gas port with a plug.

Spoke to EFI Guy tonight.
-He thinks it will be easy to do a tune and change injector firing order for older Windsor engine.

Also, didn't realize that once my moates chip was "tuned" that I should have a permanent chip burned/installed. So I will be getting that done for my bronco.

Thanks 904!!

The lower intake may need to be drilled for the ACT, but the boss is there to be drilled.
The really easy answer, yes the Explorer intake will fit in place of the mustang intake and keep the mustang controls. May not be able to keep EGR.
