Has anyone found a 2 1/2 inch dual exhaust kit? I have seen the 2 into 1, but I want a dual pipe and dual muffler kit.

I will be using long tube headers.

Been running a Duff dual exhaust with full length headers for over 20 years. No issues. About 11,000 miles in all those twenty years.

Heartthrob exhaust will bend a 2 1/2" system using their 2" template. they wouldn't guarantee it would fit, but it came real close. I cut the flanges off and welded slightly different angles on each side to fit the shorty headers.

That looks good how much did they charge you and who did you talk to at heartthrob

I purchased it last year, so I'm not sure who I talked to. They sell a 2" exhaust system for early bronco's, I just asked and he said OK. The price wasn't much more than what they charged for 2". It may be a tad bit overkill if you have a stock motor, I built a 408ci stroker with big valves and high flow heads. They also will bend you a 2" stainless system, what you see on mine is ceramic coating like the headers. The only drawback was trying to fit an "X" or "H" close enough to the headers to make a difference.

2x2 1/2" may be OK for a healthy 351w or a stroked 351w. Too large for any 302/5.0.

I have the BC kit (Headers and Pipe) on a nice 351w. 2 into 1, 2 1/2" Pipe with 3" outlet. Sounds great, NO clearance issues and NO pipe on driver's side next to fuel lines, et.

I hear ya. I run 2-1/4" duals with long tube headers and turbo mufflers on a 351w.
Runs and sounds great.

Ditto here...except my 2 1/4" duals are venting built 408Cs..on two different trucks.

2-1/2" dual is too big. Not that it's a "problem"..its just a waste of space and pipe. Looks "cool" though..

Currently building a '76 and going with 2 1/4 pipes in to single muffler with one 2 -1/2 pipe out.

My 347 is at the 400hp mark, so 2 1/2 shouldn't be too big.

My other question is clearance. Does 2 1/2 fit easily with the transfer case skid plate in place?

The BC Bronco system is 2 1/2 into one muffler and then 3 inch tailpipe……is that too big?

If you go the way I did, the pipes are very adjustable because of the ball flange on the BC headers. You need to weld on your own flange anyway, so I got a couple 2 1/2 flange pipes with slight bends and rotated until they fit. Then you rotate the offset mufflers to move the tail pipes where you need them. I put 3" stainless tips on, I pray daily that it's not a problem. LOL

Honestly, I have a factory 2 1/2" exhaust on my Z06 7.0L, thats why I went with it.

Speaking for myself...."too big" is anything larger than what is going to actually benefit the performance of the engine. So really..its more a matter of "big enough". Given how darned tight these little trucks are for exhaust routing..."big enough" is challenge enough for me.

BC's 2-in-1 system is more than big enough. ;D

2.5 is hard to fit. I run the 2.5 to 3 super single on an EB and a big bronco and they flow fine. Gives more room to route other stuff.
There's a reason the vendors don't make 2.5 duals. Too hard to make fit.

I purchased this kit. http://kmjent.com/index.php/catalog...36-universal-2-5-dual-exhaust-kit-pipes-only/ Pieced it together and welded it up. Includes the crossover pipe. Had to dent it near the D20 drain plug but other than that not too bad. Added the HD Flowmaster 44s. Sounds good to me. I'm still into the "loud and proud" mode though. I can snap some pics tonight if you like.

Nice kit. I've been buying something very similar but in SS and doing the same thing to make up an exhaust. Tedious.....but it works.

Personally, I did not have a problem making it fit. If you run your back shocks or panhard bar inside the frame you will have a problem. Most of the pros are looks and sound, unless you're running high RPM's often like in mud or sand dunes.

unless you are running 5000 rpm and above just about all the time a 2.5 single is fine. I have a 2.5 single on my 393 and it makes peak HP at about 5000 rpm and going from the original 3" single with one turbo muffler to a 2.5 single with a turbo mufler and a 30" long 2.5 inch core glasspack made it made it much quieter, took about 10HP off the top end at 5000 where I didnt care and did absoulutely nothing to hurt the low end torque.

The mustang go fast guys and the hot rod magazines would have you believe you need dual 3" on a 5.0, but remeber they are only worried about WOT operation and peak RPM.

I have run 2.5" exhaust on almost every car truck I have had since 2000 sometimes I do see or feel a gain in power but have yet had one lose power, but that's my experience and I always run an x-pipe or h-pipe. One thing about running 2.5" exhaust for me is why run headers that dump out at 3" to 2" or 2.25" just seems like a waste of running headers but I can see the argument that 2.25" exhaust would help with scavenging. Old school thought was small blocks 289-351w running 2.25" duals was fine if you are running a stock motor manly stock cam and heads, some have tested that 2.25" will improve low end torque as well. Some stock setups where actual 1.75" when they left the factory with duals, as far as two into one once again old school thought was run larger pipes from manifolds/headers than go one size smaller after muffler which help with scavenging. I always thought most aftermarket companies dint offer 2.5" kits as there is to many variations in drivetrain to guaranty fit and yes for most 2.5" exhaust is just about size but as long as we aren't going with the $hit cans (large coffee can exhaust mufflers) like the import crowd I don't see what the problem is.
But all this is my 2 cents and that's not worth a lot.
