Hey guys,
I'm posting this here because I'm not trying to sell either of these, and I'm not posting the ads for them. Just looking for opinions because I'm in the market.

Looking for opinions on 2 different broncos. One is a 69 that looks real clean, and appears to be close to stock as far as running gear. It has an np435 and front disk. Asking $15k.
The other is a 73 that needs body work and doors. It's far from stock with a fuel injected 5.0 from an explorer, auto trans, currie 9" w/Detroit, and 4 wheel disk brakes. Asking $13k.
If both are in good running condition, which one do you think you'd go after?
Both are cut.
Thanks.

Ummmm. Redhead or brunette?!?!!

No really. Depends on what u want to use it for. Both seem like good deals if the condition is good. Both are completely different though

That about Sums it up!
The 69 says it has a sportsman package with a fold down gun rack. Was that really an option back then?

Avoid the bodywork unless you have time, skills and or money.

There are a few threads on here on the Sportsman package. It had some special badging and a few other items, but wasn't an option from Ford.

That '69 looks like a great rig. De-diamond plate that interior once you get it and you'll be good to go!

Not sure about the 30. Waiting for a reply from the owner. That's one of reasons I'm hesitating on the 69. That, and I would prefer an automatic.

73 that needs body work?
Dents or rust?

You are in California but for many years people were moving there and I would assume taking their vehicles with them.

What is your intended use for the Bronco?
Dents on an off-roader vs dents on a street truck.

I did a resto-mod on a 75. Beautiful from bumper to bumper. I always worried about scratching the paint off road.
So as far as body work is concerned I'm not too worried. Plus my bro in law does body work on the side.

The owner of the 73 claims rust free.
Still waiting for the guy with the 69 to call me back.
The 73 has a Detroit locker in back. Great off road, but I don't want a full time locked rear. Not fun to drive on the street.
So that would have to go pretty quick.
The from has an Ox locker.

That '69 doesn't look anything like a 15K bronco. No way.

The '73 really depends on how bad the body is and how it drives. At that price, I'd probably keep looking.

edit: if the '73 is rust free, then it sounds fair. Any drivability issues could be fixed easy enough.

Thanks for the replies. I made a deal on the 73. I'll hopefully pick it up this week. I'm back in the saddle again!!
