Hey I know this has been asked but I could find a clear answer in the tech section on what master cylinder can be used with the Ford F 250 hydroboost system in a EB . Or can the stock one that comes with it be used ? Anybody out there running this ? I am wanting to use this unit because a buddy that works at a Ford dealer can get me the complete unit from a 2004 F250 Superduty that was totaled (FREE) ;D .
Any info would be great and pics would be even better .
Thanks Robert

I'm using a hydroboost out of a 2002 SD. It works great. I used my stock EB (disc/drum) master cylinder and the brakes are slightly more sensitive than those on a stock Super Duty, but great with 35" tires. I don't believe you should try to use the Super Duty master cylinder. The bore is too large and it's disc/disc. SD brakes are huge compared to anything you'll install on your EB.

Do some searching and you'll see the various master cylinders that have been used for various brake set ups that different people are using. I stayed with my stock 77 EB master cylinder, because it was engineered to work with my stock disc/drum brakes

Cool that is what I needed ,to hear from someone that has it in there bronco now . What all did you have to do to the rod that goes to the brake pedal ? And does tha 77 MC bolt up or did you have to do any mods to it ?
Thanks Again

Is your F250 a Super Duty?? If so dont use the master.
If you have your stock master use it. It should fit.
A Gen 1 unit would have been better, but your Gen 2 unit will work but you will have to adapt the pressure ports to work for you.
If you want to buy a new master cylinder use a Lincoln unit (78-79), they came in all disc and disc/drum units. Best fit for the money.
As to the rod, read the Hydroboost article I wrote for this site (<< on the right in the tech section). Although it is a Gen 1 unit I am writing about, the rod length adjustment is the same with a Gen 2 unit.

I hadnt bought a MC yet so I could buy the Lincoln unit if that would be a better fit . I am going to run front disc and the big rear drums . I will check out your tech write up .
Thanks Robert

I used the stock 76-77 angle bracket, which makes the method and measurements different for the rod. Read TOFIC's article and if you are planning to use a 76-77 angle bracket instead of mounting directly to the firewall, let me know and I'll send you some info on how I did mine.

That would be great if you could send me info on what you had to do to yours to make it work .
Thanks Robert
