2013 Super Celebration (Travel) Road Conditions *UPDATE*April15

* UPDATE*
US 441 FROM CHEROKEE TO GATLINBURG IS OPEN, OPEN, OPEN. There are NO other local roads closed at this time.




Throwing this out here for anyone headed to the Super Celebration in


Townsend April 19/20 2013

US 441 from Cherokee NC to Gatlinburg IS CLOSED. This morning Ive heard reports of MID SUMMER before 441 (Newfound Gap Rd) will be fixed. Big washout happened last rain cycle.

So persons headed from the East Coast will have to take Interstate 40 to the North. Or The tail of The Dragon to the South of Gatlinburg to get around the closure. As time nears, I'll update.

All other roads are open right now. Including the road from Gatlinburg to Townsend, (Little River Rd.)

Good idea Frank! I'll make sure we let people know as we get inquiries. This is a pic I found online of the washout. I was hoping it was just a little quick fix, they are not kidding with this one!
