NEW INFO 6-25-14

Twin Grove Campground Info

Walk on’s at the campground and those that are staying at other locations:

There should be no charge for walk on's per Missy at Twin Grove. Please let me know if you have an issue.

Please park your rig at the parking lot in front of the registration building. Please go to the registration desk and let them know you are here for the “Early Bronco Group” they will direct you to the pavilion. There is very limited parking near the pavilions, so please leave your transportation in the parking lot. If you are unable to make the short uphill walk (handicapped, small children) we can provide some parking spots but please leave this option for those that truly need it.

Show and Shine Friday Night, Please report to the registration desk upon arrival at the campground and let them know you are here for this event. They will buzz you through the gate and you will see us on the left on the top of the hill. One of the MEB staff will direct you where to park.

All Roundup participants must sign the liability waiver and will be issued a wrist band to let us know you are part of the group and have signed the waiver.

Tech Inspection:

Bring your trail rig by during registration for Tech Inspection. Please park it on the exit road side of the field and let one of the MEB staff know you are there for inspection. After Tech inspection please return your rig to your campsite to leave room for other people.

If you are storing your rig off site we will do tech inspection at Rausch Creek in the morning. Please see a MEB Staff member to get this done. It is your responsibility to make sure this gets done. Please don't make us chase you down. All Trail rigs must get inspected.

Car Trailer Storage:

If you are checking into the Campground the Reception desk will guide you to where to store your trailer.
You can store your rig and trailer at Rausch creek if you want. Please leave it on the NE property side, go down the driveway across from the main entrance and go left at the end of the drive way. You can store trailers anywhere on the left side. DO NOT park them on the side with the two telephone poles.

We will have a block of RV and tent spaces reserved for our participants which will have a discounted rate that will be available after we announce that info and prepare to open the event for registration.

We will soon make that announcement and details on how to claim some of the discounted spots.

The campground is quite large, so we should easily be able to accommodate everyone.

Hmmm, more incentive to get my Bronco running and explore a new area. Off to the garage I go.

Awesome news! We are looking forward to the event. I noticed some of the sites are pet-friendly....does that include Sasquatchs? What is the plural of Sasquatch anyway? :)

Is the idea for folks with the non-street-legal rigs to leave them and their trailers at Rausch the whole time? Is that even possible or allowed?

Bruce (owner of Rausch Creek) said he often has groups leaves vehicles and trailers in a designated are in the parking lot and has never had any issues. We may also have a few people who camp at the park since it is free, so if we do, we will try to rope off a parking area near them so the rigs will have some eyes on them nearby.

Otherwise, it will be just like back in the Red Ridge Campground at Paragon Adventure Park and Peace Valley/Crawford's at Tellico where you drive them or trailer them back and forth.

As you know as a long time past participant, but for some who may not be aware, in the 15 previous Roundups, separate camp and wheeling locations with 10-20 miles of travel between them was the case more often than not.

.

That's why I asked. As you know, the "local authorities" looked the other way at Tellico and the scene on the public road between Steve's and the paybooth looked like a scene straight out of Mad Max sometimes. But no such slack was given between Paragon and Red Ridge..so it was load 'em and unload 'em every day.....

I was thinking...hoping..it would be OK to leave the rigs at Rausch for the duration if they are trailer-only rigs. Sounds like that'll work!;D

like the Island Queen?

Alas....I'm not sure the ole Queen is even up to being trailered. I looked underneath her skirts just this past weekend. I've seen a lot of really badly rusted frames and bodies in my day, but nothing like that mess.

Stills moves boats around the yard though....:-[

We have all the parts and pieces to put a really solid trail beater together..something that could maybe even compete with Iron Bear. Hope to have that slapped tog.......er....I mean.....built before Roundup.
