Finally getting around to getting a replacement carb for my 69. The old holly 2 barrel is toast one of the four accelerator pump screws is stripped. I want to get a Ford 2100 heard nothing but good about them but I don't have a core. I am gonna use http://www.championcarburetor.com I emailed them and they were very helpful but price goes way up if you don't have a core? Should I buy a core on Ebay? Not sure if I can get and exceptable core on ebay. What do you think?

P.S. should I get manual choke or electric . I have manual but PO did not hook up choke.
Thanks!

... I'd say go with the Manuel choke. But I fell I'll be in the minority around these parts.
I sold Champion carbs at my parts store in the 80's . I don't think they were the best ones I sold. But I don't remember whose I sold last.
I'd not think you could get a proper core off E-Bay. I'd expect it to cost more than the core charge. & What the people will send you that they say is good enough for a core. It won't core . So Youd have to by a good carb & then it'll cost you more than the core charge would cost.

X2 salvage yard should have one of course they tend to want to charge high prices on some things. Pick and pull yard tend to be the best bet. craigslist is a good bet as well. ebay works usually they tell you if its froze up or not plus 2v are not the highest sellers.. Also they are not that hard to rebuild Id do it myself. But all said and done you should consider just going to you local parts store and getting one. Autozone has them for less than what your going to pay online and that includes a core charge plus a 1year warranty so if it does have a issue you can deal with it locally instead of from a distance.

I just switched my 69 from manual choke to electric. I like the electric choke for convenience but it impacts a few things. The 69 air cleaner, if you're running a stock one, will not fit over the electric choke so you'll need to go low-profile after market or get a later year stock air cleaner. You'll end up with a push-pull knob marked choke that doesn't do anything (sound like you already have that!) and you'll need to run a wire from your alternator to the choke mechanism. Just some things to think about!

I swapped my 2100 for a 4100 about 6 months ago still have carb was running fine I'm sure it would be fine for rebuild. Haven't priced them I'm guessing if you want it $50 plus shipping
