302 Carburetor New or Rebuild

You may have already done this (you mentioned simple green?) but if you have the carb off and are going to do the rebuild, definitely soak it overnight in gallon of carb cleaner....a full dip. You can re-use the cleaner if you keep the lid on. I've never heard of using simple green. I had a similar issue as you do with my truck dying at low speeds (1-3 mph trail crawling) but would run fine as soon as I hit the accelerator. It was always due to the fact that I kept it in storage for months at a time and the carb would gum up inside.....no amount of fuel stabilizer would help. Now, when I'm done driving it, I put the fuel selector switch in the middle position and run the truck out of fuel....takes about 2 minutes. I never have a problem anymore. But start with an overnight soak.
