302 Short Headers. Grinding the bell housing on the passenger side ?

I have this set of headers and want to use them. The engine is a 302 with E7 heads mounted to a AOD.
There is a tap on the transmission bell housing I am wondering if it's ok to grind it of to gain extra room?
Has any one run into this problem?

Another solution would be to modify the headers.

Got a picture of that bell-housing flange from a different angle? I can't say as I've ever seen it before. At least that I remember.
But from here with the one pic at least, it looks like it would not cause any trouble to grind some off of the bell housing itself.
Is that pic with the headers bolted up tight, or are they still loose and in place? Just wondering if you will still need to pull/force them over to clear the frame.

Thank you for your replay. (y)
Headers are lose. It would take to much force to, force them. But some grinding might let them slip in the right direction if you think it's ok to grind. Also would shimming the engine 1/6 or so, over to the driver side do any harm?

More photos at a Better angle maybe?

Yep, cut that piece of aluminum off, I have done a few AOD transmission installs using the BC Bronco headers with the exact same issue. I used a Sawzall and then dressed it up with a cookie style pad on an air grinder. I think that is an assembly line support, I think.
