Hey guys , I'm having a problem with a V8 conversation. The engine towers are welded in and the engine, trans and transfer case are all connected together. I dropped the entire unit in and it looks like i welded the engine towers 1/2" to far back because the drivers side valve cover is hitting the firewall. I do have the trans and transfer case raised with a floor jack.
Now the other problem is the transmission crossmember is way to far forward for it to line up with the holes in the frame. It seems like the entire unit should slide back but that would put the engine an inch or two into the firewall.
I'm really scratching my head . Did I install a 6 cylinder trans ? Need help bad
I'd like to talk to someone on the phone. Thank you

Did you swap out the 6 cylinder intermediate housing for a V8 housing? The 6 cy is shorter so it causes the engine to move toward the firewall.

Did you put the engine mounts on backwards? They are offset and could go either way...
