I'm wondering what distributor you guys are using on your Clevelands?
I've got the 2brl. garden variety and Duraspark II ignition and I believe the distributor from a '76 M block .
The issue I'm having is the timing is advancing too soon off idle and i think too much at total advance.
The Ford shop manual says they came with a " vacumn relief valve " in the vacumn line to prevent them from advancing at low rpms and at low load conditions.
I've dsconnected the vacumn advance for now and it still advances too far.
I was going to replace the advance springs with stiffer ones and then have a shop set the advance curve . But now I'm wondering if this will help or just be more time and money spent.

I guess i should add I've got a 2 brl . holley and have the distributor vacumn hooked to the timed port

Forget about the vacuum advance and just set up the springs the way you want them.
