351 with 302 efi

89 5.8 with bc adapter. question is have complete efi setup from (88?) 5.0 minus dis,and computer.after i put this on 5.8 will the 5.8 dis work with 5.0 computor or will i need something special.also i dont have a computor. should i get manual or auto im not running electronic trans and local parts house wants number from old computor (whick i dont have)buy the way the 5.8 is an 89 which was efi truck model just letting you know all the parts

1988-91 351 will have the side mount TFI. You’ll need to change the gear if you are going to use a roller cam. The TFI module and ECU circuits change a little over the years, but all TFI distributors work the same.

soesn't matter if you get a manual or auto computer.

Just pick up a Mass Air computer and sensor and you will be good. Don't try the speed density. If the computer sees how much air is going in it will know how much fuel to add. Speed density guesses at how much air is going in by looking at the manifold pressure, engine speed and knowing how big the engine is. Going to a 351 screws with that equasion. Mass air isn't as tricked by that.

Bowsher has it right. Ryan forgot to note that as long as you use a mass air 5.0 setup you should be fine on a mildly built 351.

You will need a 351w TFI distributor though. The 302/5.0 has a 5/16" oil pump shaft and the 351w has a 3/8" oil pump shaft.
