Isn't the 351C oil pump hex drive shaft the one that's slightly longer than the 351W one? Don't some use it for driving the cam synchronizer for slightly more engagement when doing EDIS?

Even ARP isn't listing a separate part # for the 351C anymore... ARP lists the 351C and 351W as the same part #in one application...

Here's one for 351C, 351M and 400 not including 351W ARP.

ARP 154-7905... this should be it...

So is there a difference in length between the 351W oil drive shaft and the 351 c ?
I was just bashing around on Summits website and they list different #s for the Cleveland and the Windsor.
Mainly curious because last summer I replaced the oil pump and driveshaft {ARP } on my Cleveland and the darn thing coulda/shoulda been 1/4" - 3/8" longer . Wondering if they went with a one size fits all scenario despite the part # differences.

Type in 351W and you should get 351W, 351C, 400M.

Type in 351C and you should get 351C and 400M

I have the two different part #'s on paper inside

Hmm - so did they shorten the Cleveland shaft or lengthen the Windsor ? - LOL -
My oil pump and drive got noisier when I replaced the drive shaft and pump ; so just wondering if the pump or the shaft is the culprit .

Melling Part # IS84A is the one I'm told works well.

...what the others wrote. The longer shaft is needed to run a Windstar cam synchronizer in a 351W block with an adapter. That's because the adapter places the synchronizer gear in the correct spot to be driven by the cam, but then the end of the synchronizer shaft is too high in the block to fully engage the oil pump drive shaft. The longer (351C/351M/400 is the spec) solves the problem. Just dumb luck that an easy to find OEM spec part worked out perfectly.
