Can you use the stock 351w water pump and time cover or do I have to change to the mustang cover and pump?

It all depends on what year 351. The '69 351 uses the same water pump, timing chain cover, and balancer as as EB 289-302s. After that some parts are the same, some not.

The next question is what kind of engine do you want to end up with? A carbureted engine using a stock type radiator? A serpentine belt EFI conversion?

What front accessory dress do you want to run? From there you can start narrowing the parts needed.

The mustang cover probably isn't the one you want anyway. But without knowing the accessory drive package that you plan to run it is hard to say what you do need.

The mustang EFI does not care what accessory drive is in front of the engine. You could run V-belts, Mustang serpentine, or Explorer.

Do you still have the original Bronco V8 engine? If so that is probably your best bet. You can get the correct pulley offsets, fan clearance, and even timing pointers that line up. Any of the venders sell the offset adaptors that keep the accessories in the stock location. You don't even have to change the belt lengths this way.

Ok next question. Do I need to change dampener? It's a 4 bolt and sits way out, does not look like it will line up unless the pulley is set backwards.

Depends on the pulleys you plan to run. The original Bronco has a 3-bolt crank pulley. That's won't bolt up to a 4-bolt pulley. even if you do redrill, the spacing is wrong. Running original bronco pulleys, use an orignal bronco damper. Good thing is the original damper has the same balance correction as the 351. So if in good shape, just transfer that over as you move the timing cover.

If you can post a picture of the 351W timing cover without the water pump on it. If you have a roller cam 1994-1997 351W it is likely to have the true reverse rotation timing cover. Most of the EFI 5.0 Mustang engines have a timing cover that can work with a standard rotation water pump or a serpentine reverse rotation Mustang pump.
