Guess a guy can ask what ever he wants. I was at Hot August nights in Reno this week, and there was a guy parked at the casino I was staying at with a very nice, freshly restored, uncut 69 sport. Sorry no pics. It wasn't complety stock. It had a small lift looked to be a 2 inch Duff, carbed 302, sag pump, vintage air...very, very clean. Looked like it was just finished. He was asking $41,000:eek:   . Don't know if he got any offers but hay, I talked to some guy from Oregon that had just paid $92k for a 56 chebby with a 10 year old paint job and a rattleing exaust so why not...

Any time you go to a car show, the "For Sale" section gets absurd. I was at the Good Guys show at Pikes Peak International Raceway last year and some guy had his EB there. It had a 3.5" lift & 33s. Nothing else and the guy wanted 18k. Car shows are just an excuse to jack the price up on any vehicle.

Problem is that enough of these guys run into someone the either doesn't know any better or has so much money they do not really care about price as long as it is what they want. You almost have to jack up your price at a car show just to get people to leave you alone. I used to ask $20K for my 55 Chevy when it wasn't worth $3K just to get people to go away.

Throw out a price that is way to high and they will walk away laughing. Tell them its not for sale and they will hound you trying to get a price out of you.

refer to the thread "how much do you have in your EB" / interesting how much $$ guys spend. having sold my last for more than 41k and spending more than 50k on the build) it adds up quick.

This past spring one sold at Barret Jackson, West Palm Beach, FL for $49,500. I wish I could remember the lot # to post. It was yellow/black/some chrome and some polished SS. VERY nicely done, but other than pristine body/interior, nothing really special. No fire breathing crate engine or anything like that. You could eat off the inside of the fenders though.....what a waste IMO.
