• Be EXTREMELY cautious if someone offers to buy your Bronco for more than your asking price and sight unseen. ESPECIALLY if the buyer is overseas. It's probably a scam.

I have a 1979 F150 4wd auto c6. Reverse works but the forward gears have gone out. Just looking to buy one already rebuilt to put in its place. Let me know what you have.

They go for about $150 around here but there is no way to tell if it needs a rebuild, you're rolling the dice on chances if it works and for how long. I just bought one to do what you want to do for my 78 Bronco and decided to look in it and there was metal shavings and dark fluid in it. I've also bought one that was caked in grim and inch thick and it was mint on the inside. Rebuild kits are $150 and a good instructional DVD, plus the time to do it and you can be back on the road for less.

Rebuilding or Summir are my top options. I was just hoping to get lucky and someone was doing an Overdrive conversion or started a project and wanted to sell their c6.

Thanks for the advice.
