4x2+4x4 steering box conversion, right years?

Ive got an 83 2wd F150 and a 82 fullsize Bronco that I just picked up last weekend for free and was wondering if the steering boxes out of these vehicles would be the correct ones for doing the 2wd worm into 4wd box conversion? I got confused when trying to search for the info on my own...this happens often;D

Yes and no
They will only work if you have a 78/79 F150/bronco 4x4 box.

An '83 f150 4x2 box and an '82 bronco 4x4 are the same. But they are the correct worm gears for the swap into a late '70's full size f150/bronco 4x4 box. The one I put together for my Bronco consists of a '77 f150 4x4, and a '95 f250.
