What have you folks used for a lower radiator hose. I got the top hose figured out (69 Pontiac w/400). I know others have split the lower hose and connected it with another tube.
My tube piece I fabricated has multiple bends and doesn't look right, it will work but I want something better other than getting another radiator.

Wasn't there a site where I could purchase this tube to splice and reconnect the lower hose?

Please post pics or links if you have them...
Aloha,
madgyver

I found it...............Still post pics if you have any.

I used the TZ pipe with a few modificatons. I added a petcock to the bottom of the pipe to prevent floods when removing the pipe. Makes a better radiator drain than stock also. I also used a 97 Acura exhaust pipe hanger to take the load off of everything. I also needed more clearance because my ac compressor in the smog pump hole so I used different hoses that the stock lower split in half. The bottom passenger side is a Gates 20357 drivers bottom is Gates 20151. The Pontiac hose is Gates 20983.

I am not using the exhaust tube in the pictures. It has been replaced with a mandrel bent stainless tube. I don't think it was necessary but I did it anyway.

Driven Auto Parts now sells an exhaust pipe version of Todd's. See the back of Bronco Driver #16 for one.

I guess I am not a contributor anymore. How about email address. Jon is fast. I'm back.

If you want something to take to the local muffler shop a few pieces of 1 1/2" abs pipe and fittings will work just fine. You can cut and whittle with abs. Glue it together. Hook up the hoses and check it out.

You will need 3 couplings, 3 45* street els, 1 90 sweeping street el (modified to 100 degrees to clear the frame)frame and about 18" of abs 1 1/2 pipe and a can of glue.

The problem with the steel tube is adding a ridge on the end of the pipe to keep the hoses from blowing off. No ridge they won't stay on. I used some .040 SS welding rod on the steel tupe. I silver soldered it on each end. I used a a 3/8-1/4 brass pipe bushing for the drain petcock. I silver soldered it on also.

Here are some pictures of my pattern (it leaks).
