5" suspension lift = 33" or 35" tires?

So, I am at the stage now with choosing the tires for my bronco. It has what we think is a 5" suspenion lift with Fox shocks ( no body lift ) and can not decide between 33" or 35" BFG's on 15" MT classic rims? The power is a fuel injected 347ci @400hp/415tq , detroit locker rear.
What I am worried about is the look of too small tires with the 33's or the poor driving of 35's? I live in the mountains where we drive hwy, snow, trail etc.

You know that 33s will fit with zero lift. Not sure why you want 5 extra inches of lift?

Looks sweet....I would think 35's would make it look even better and fill up those fender wells.

Definitely 35's. I crawl with 36's and 3.5" SL, flares and some inner fender trimmed. I run 33's most of the time though.

Go with 35s with that much lift. What is your gearing in your axles? A guide to go by is 4:11s work well with 33s, so 4:56 for 35s.

Another ' yes for the 35s "
You didn't mention what transmission you had but for a highway rig {yours certainly doesnt look like a trail vehicle ! } 4.10s with 35s will do alright.

35s or 37s all day long IMO

This.

35's or even 37s don't make a vehicle drive poorly. They may take a marginal suspension and make it worse.

I daily drive 37's with 3.5" of suspension lift and 2"BL (only to clear a 351W and ZF5) A properly tuned suspension will ride nice and have good dynamics that are safe at highway speed. Getting to a properly tuned suspension involves analyzing f/r ride rates, using shocks tuned for your specific application(typically digressive valving yields better overall performance), proper suspension geometry (well placed roll centers, under-steer gradient, etc.) and sway bars.

What's wrong with what's on it now? I think they look great,I have a 70 I restored with 6.5 in lift with 35in Toyos.33s would not look good with that much lift.I have 4.56 gears with a NV3550 5sp trans and it's the perfect combo.Good Luck. Jim.

I agree that it looks good the way it is, but then again, I run 33x12.5x15 right now, and if I could afford 20s I would, because those look great. I have 3.5" lift, though - maybe even 2.5. Who knows - old sagging lift.

5" suspension lift = 33" or 35" tires?

I would go at least 35's as others have stated, 33's will look awful small with that. If you stay with larger wheel sizes they handle just fine. I have 35's on mine with 17" wheels and she cruises down the interstate at 70mph like a dream. You will never overcome the short wheelbase aspect of it in that regard of handling etc but I am extremely happy with how well it rides and handles even at highway speeds. I have a 2.5" SL and 1" BL.

Those rims are gorgeous, Englewood Cowboy. But rim/tire size are personal taste. To many, the 33" tire - while old school - looks very nice. To many, the oversized rim and tire looks modern, but appears too big.

To my eye, your 3.5" lift looks okay with the 35s, but I like the look of 33s with 3.5" lift.

With 5" lift? 35s probably better looking.
