66 rear view mirror, the inside one

Ok, one more question that I can't seem to find one common answer to. The rear view mirror in the 66, the in side one. Some say it screws to the windshield frame, some say it glues to the glass, like most cars. I've heard that it uses the same mirrior as the Mustang and Cougar. Is there a right or wrong answer? Or is it like every thing else on the 66 it depends what they had on the shelf that day?

Thanks Nick

When I had my 66, it screwed to the frame. I also found a very nice repacement for it, from an old econoline.
