Well another long Michigan winter is coming and I need something to do. I wasn't really looking for another bronco project as I should be finishing the basement at my house. But I found this truck here on classics and couldn't resist. The Man I bought it from on classics was very upfront and honest in the transaction went very well.My father and I are going to take it apart and bring it back to as original condition as possible.

As for the truck, it is from west Texas. It's a September build with a Houston DSO. Acadian blue. It has all the original goodies: eyebrow grill, tail gate, mirror, hub caps, radio, inserts and backing plates. The truck is very solid but has plenty of dents and surface rust that it accumulated over the past 48 years. It needs floorpans as they were read done but with an aftermarket replacement. It will also need a rear quarter panel replacement as it is kind of smashed up. But the good news is the Cowl and all the doorpost are rocksolid as are the rockers both in and out.

This will be a slow build and I will update as I do things so without further ado here are the pictures.....

Here it is as I bought it site unseen.

I was pretty stoked that all it took was a few cups of gas and priming the oil pump in to have it running.....just a little exhaust leak

Congradulations! Thats a dandy for sure, getting very hard to find in a mostly unmolested/unrestored/unmodifed condition

went and checked it out the other night. Nice solid rig to build. Should be a great father / son project.

Everyone needs a roadster :)

Excellent. I love the early ones, and a Roadster to boot. That thing looks real solid as well, love to see her in person, maybe you can get it to Broncorama in May. Hope to see you there again anyway, Hoping I have mine done by then or at least able to make the trip up there from Cleveland.

Kind of played around the truck for a few hours today. Started stripping some of the items a little at a time bagging them away for when the time comes to put them back on. Also had a body guy come over to give me an idea what he can and can't save as far as panels. With a little bit of work we started getting things straightened back up. Found some cool factory markings.Looks like I will be able to keep the rear quarter that I thought was bad as well as the front fender. The bad news is without making it a huge project the hood is something I'm going to have to find a 66 replacement of.

Nice truck. Look forward to seeing your work on it. Do you know which Houston dealership it was sold at?

The PO said he has the original bill of sale and owners manual somewhere he is looking for him and will be mailing them to me when he finds them. So as of right now I'm not sure

Maybe a long lost twin has been found...

Hey Blue, that's a great truck you found!!! It might be a twin of my truck because, I'm restoring Arcadian blue U13, September build, DOS Houston truck. lol What are your numbers in your VIN? It would be curious to see how closely the trucks were actually made together!

Mine are 753604

Thanks Jeff

Is all that black stuff in the door jam from Ford? Or is it some sort of rust proofing that the PO did? Either way it completely saved the doorpost they are perfect as well are the rockers.
