its been about a 3 year project and its almost done. my buddy dan in san diego has been building it. origonally we wre thinking SCORE class 3 when building it, however it doesnt meet the 2in tube rule for the cage. realistically i probably will just end up racing mdr here in ca maybe twice a year. its much more in my budget haha. its more or less a prerunner/driver. everything still works and functions that you would want on the street, heater, defroster vacuum wippers and i think i still have the armrests somewhere :)

heres a link to the pics dan has taken during progress, let me know what you guys thinks.

Awesome - really impressive. Any chance you're looking into the rear prerunner fenders?

i am but i want to see them installed, curious about how they mount and how the lines line up.

thanks for the compliments, making it a full cage with removable half cab that is totally sealed was definitely not easy, i think it will be worth it, from what ive seen its the only half cab built like it is. spent the better part of today installed one of those molded firewall insulators had to cut around all the tubes and the brake pedal bracket, but got it installed and the heater back in.
started opening the "racket jacket" stuff today as well, are they serious about all those rubber pads that go all over the place?

and who sells the best carpet? so far, from what ive found, no one makes half cab carpet, figured id cut it long enough to go up the bulkhead and fill in the fender openings?
had wildhorses before from about 8 years ago, kinda flattened out pretty fast after i put it in?

I purchased a half cab carpet kit from toms. It looks good, I have not installed it yet.

does it go up the bulkhead? that would be nice if it did and was one piece.

That guy on eBay that does the seat covers does halfcab carpet too. I have not heard anything about the carpet kits, but it sounds like the seat covers are pretty good. (madeone4you) He is located in Medford Oregon.

its not really the tube rule getting down, the cost of racing SCORE is hahaha

it would just be nice to be able to say its race legal in all the sanctions. but as for what i wanted to do with it, i think its going to work really good. ill probably race mdr once or twice a year realistically but ill probably be driving it to the desert all the time.

Nice project! :)

So you do plan to be SCORE legal?
Feel free to log into www.Class3Racing.com for all the info you might need on the Class you be racing.

Keep it up, We need the numbers to grow, to Keep Class 3 going.

A few years ago before I got into racing I had the chance to by an early Bronco that I was told was build to race the '77 Baja 1000 for $4500.00 & I passed on it! %)
At the time I wanted a Calif. street legal rig & had not gotten hooked yet.
It was all old school rig with 4 shocks per tire & rear mounted radiator etc etc...

Looking back, DAMN!
I wish I would of got it. %)

pics from about 2 weeks ago. full insulation has been laid down inside everywhere it is black and behind the seats. fuel lines and filters plumbed up to the stock manual valve below my seat. half cab ready waiting for weather stripping also got the light bar mounted but no lights on it yet.
