How did you go from shopping for a painter on July 3, 2026--to a fully painted bronco August 11? That has to be a record of some sort!

Looks great

The stars were all aligned. I've had 8 different projects painted over the last 25 years, and they all were in the paint shops for anywhere between 2-8 months. This guy was shockingly fast, partly because he only works one vehicle at a time. And I did a lot more of the prep work myself on this one, which saved shop time as well. It was in the shop a total of 12 days.

Progress has definitely been made. Working through the finish punch list now. Probably 6-8 weeks, as a guess. As bought pics are from the prior owner, taken in August 2024.

Spent some time over the last couple days on lingering details. Repaired an exhaust hanger, replaced the gauge regulator with a Ford NOS part, and finally have the wipers parking semi-reliably. The NOS gauge regulator (in place of a no-name solid-state that didn't get the job done) now has all the gauges working and showing fairly sane data. The fuel gauge actually reads nearly full after adding 9 gallons to the main tank yesterday. And the wipers park properly every time I turn them off. Finally. I have no idea how many hours I have spent on the wiper parking issue, but I know that I can disassemble and reassemble the wiper motor in a matter of minutes now.
