That frame will be a bit of work. Not sure about your welding skills but certainly should be done by someone with skills. I did my frame horns with my mediocre ability but I probably would ask someone else to cut/weld that far into the frame. If you are really wanting to go back to stock, you might also consider a completely new frame (or find a used one on here). You could use the old one to do the body work off or possibly put it on a rotisserie. I guess it just depends on how crazy you want to get.

Love to see ladies take on these projects. Not many would. I will be following your progress. Cheers!

Thank you Hohpstr, and you too CA Bronco.

I'm not considering a new frame until I've exhausted myself from labor and sweat. I've become a good fabricator and I'm a pretty darned good welder. I'll get the job done and save the frame;) It would be too easy just to buy a new frame;) I bought this as a challenge and challenge it is;)

I have more questions than answers.
I'm guessing that is a list of items they have for sale that you are interested in. A couple things not knowing what your budget is, but should work well for your plans for the Bronco .

Duff's has a radius arm that is part of the duck tuff suspension kit you might want to research. Also the Eibach shocks, there is an active thread about them including wait time. Is the track bar adjustable? More modern ways for improved suspension now days if you want to go that way.

The Ford Motorcraft 2100 series carb that came with the Bronco from the factory is a fantastic carb and should easily handle what you described. Anything else would be a down grade.

Is there a problem with your front axle assy? A disc brake upgrade should work for both the Dana 30-44. Have you considered a hydro boost over the vacuum booster?

Thank you Penning, I don't really have a budget, but I'm conscious of what I spend and I do want a deal just like anyone else, you know, save a little money now and then.

As for my front axle, the pinion bearing is really loose and the axle U-joints are pretty much gone. I plan to try to keep the 44, but getting the 30 for the disc brake parts.

As for Hydro boost, I always thought it to be kind of unsightly, however so is a brake booster. But keeping things simple, the brake booster would be just fine unless someone talks me out of simplicity! lol ;)

Heading out now, I'll post good pics of the parts I get tomorrow evening;!

Hi gang, after the two day journey to Mississippi this past weekend, an 8-9 hour drive, my husband and I had the honor to meet Tim (Salashhavoc) which had a boatload of parts for sale. It all started with just looking for a C4 transmission, but he wound up having a lot of parts which should help me greatly!

But I'd just like to say what I super guy he is! and his family, his wife, kids, omg, what I wonderful family!!! We were greeted like good friends and had a wonderful evening prior (his wife even invited to a steak dinner of which she is an incredibly hostess and super person) to even actually buying the parts the next morning. So Tim, you're an awesome guy! and quite handsome too!;)

There's too much to list, but one can get the idea from the pictures~ I originally was just looking for a C4 transmission, but wound up with a boatload of parts which should help greatly in my journey;)

My brother came over to help me unload the parts, but I left the majority of parts on my 14' trailer which is kept inside.
As for the engine, I went ahead and pulled the intake and valve covers to discover a nice surprise of neat things and a clean engine~ mainly removed the intake to bead blast it in time, not right now, I have plenty going on with the frame repair and that's what I really need to focus on, but the temperature and humidity is just a little more than I can bare, so I'll get to it when I can.
So, I'm going to sip my coffee and then go back out to play for a little bit! ;)

your in a trap now. you have no Budget now the Bronco keeps sucking your wallet until you sell it or someone dies. soon you wont be able to sleep due to the sucking sound. Did you get your tetanus shot and stock up your first aid kit? be very wary of the 4" grinder they send you out for stitches all the time. get a dozen pairs of safety glasses and leave them all over the place so there is a pair within arms reach all the time. keep a tube a super glue in the fridge it comes in handy when your leaking. Bronco demand blood sacrifice before progress. the bigger the project the bigger the sacrifice. talk to your doctor for a prescription for silver sulfadiazine best working burn cream out there for me.
don't forget to talk yourself about how much fun your having. Hope you have a very understanding husband. just try to remember his name.

Gee Rusty, as for a budget, it just takes what it takes to get it going. Doesn't mean I spend carelessly. The parts I recently bought will actually save a great deal. 4500 for the parts is an exceptional price for what I bought. I don't have to spend money on an engine overhaul, nor transmission overhaul, tire/wheels alone is a savings too. The bronco is a pricey creature to buy even in poor condition~ this in not my first restoration, I have a first class shop and can do just about anything, I do my own paint, body, fabrication, etc. I have fresh air breathing systems for painting, safety is a priority, do I get scrapped or cut, of course! So, I think you'll be surprised just how well I'll do, I just need support like most on here;) I can say I'll probably wrap this restoration up within~ say, 2 years or sooner and not rushing and I do spend quality time with my husband~ we are retired and enjoying life ;)

Watch out cutting the frame end on the passengers side you need to keep the top section intact cut carefully to keep the Vin Number complete. you really, really need to keep the vin number so make sure you don't remove it. assuming your vin number matches your title. may have to section the frame horizontally in that area.
