'73 Bronco Sport, totally original, question about trim?

My '73 Bronco Sport has everything original and I have noticed several Broncos with chrome trim all the way around the quarter panels and doors. Mine only has chrome on the windows and the tailgate. Any idea why it is this way?

The body side molding was an option.

Definately something wierd there. Possibly a replacement tailgate was installed?

X2 on the replacement tailgate. It may not be as orginal as you thought.
